The technical jargon used in this document reflects prior conversations among the principals involved in Node architecture. It is used here for the sake of brevity.
OCHRE
B2C: Export OCHRE metadata as denormalized semi-structured XML metadata.
B2B: Export OCHRE metadata as EDM RDF XML triples.
EAD
B2C: Crosswalk EAD-encoded finding aids to denormalized semi-structured XML metadata.
B2B: Crosswalk EAD-encoded finding aids to EDM RDF XML triples.
ISAC
B2C: Crosswalk simple Dublin Core to denormalized semi-structured XML metadata.
B2B: Crosswalk simple Dublin Core to ore:Aggregation and edm:ProvidedCHO.
It remains as an option to derive one of the EAD or one of the ISAC crosswalks from the other.
B2B must deliver simple Dublin Core (as stipulated by OAI-PMH). This can be extracted from the simple Dublin Core elements included in the edm:providedCHO.
B2B may also deliver EDM RDF (as stipulated in the grant proposal for originally envisioned digital collections).
Metadata is still unsettled at the time of writing.
