💡 For the best experience, we recommend a fresh install this time (uninstall the previous version first) — updating in place should still work, but a clean install avoids leftover files from older versions.

⚠️ RimDroid is a beta and under active development. Things will break, devices differ wildly, and not everything works everywhere yet. We're improving it release by release.

🆕 What's new

Main features

✅ RimWorld 1.6 support — menu, gameplay, saving, sound, all working.

✅ Saves fixed — the actual cause of pawn/colonist save corruption was found and fixed, instead of patching around it per game build. Saves should now be reliable on 1.5 and 1.6 alike, no mod or extra step required. Please disable the old SaveFixesMod if it was used.

✅ Game sound fixed — no more generating a sound pack or flipping an audio switch. Sound (including DLC and mod audio) plays correctly out of the box.

✅ Install directly from a GOG installer — you can now add a zip that contains a GOG DRM‑free .sh installer.

✅ Under-the-hood performance & stability — fixed the root cause of a class of engine-level crashes (also responsible for the save corruption above), so the game no longer needs to run a reactive repair pass in the background — smoother, more stable emulation overall.

Also in the app:

• CJK fonts (Chinese / Japanese / Korean) - special RimDroidCJK mod.
• Steam in-app downloader
• Compatibility mod - turn it on if you can't launch the game in the regular way.

• Harmony mod 2.2.2

Rimdroid is only a launcher.
To run the game, you still need the actual game files (Linux version), which you must obtain yourself - for example, by purchasing the game on Steam/GOG.
