This Alpha refreshes the public collaborator build with two player-visible improvements: context actions are now shown at the center reticle, and actors use stable, truthful approach geometry when working with blocking objects and nonblocking scene dressings.

What changed:

  • added a centered interaction prompt that names the aimed-at object and the action available through E or left-click;
  • shows ready actions in green and blocked actions in amber with the reason;
  • added the prompt and showcase controls to F1 help;
  • fixed resource approaches so actors stop circling or walking away when weaving baskets or foraging;
  • proved the ordinary player-input sequence from grass to a woven basket, then a complete berry-picking animation, inventory transfer, and basket return.

Verification completed before publication:

  • built from Vandrel commit 08badd0a28d54c89955dedd9a6037b42171640c1;
  • release-focused checks passed, and the resource-approach package passed 132 focused tests;
  • exported with Godot 4.7.2 and the supported bundled .NET 8 runtime;
  • both the built package and a cleanly extracted copy reached ordinary Main with 461 startup scenery instances;
  • the built and extracted 195-file manifests matched, including exactly one Vandrel.dll and the required .NET host/runtime files;
  • no application-error dialog, .NET crash event, WER report, or dump was found;
  • ZIP SHA-256: ff8c09aeb12d01e19f31c081323a133740bb8ccb1dfad77688c37888a48fc083.

Known Alpha limitations:

  • character animation polish, foot grounding, and some autonomous long-form workflows remain active work;
  • navigation and dense-scene collision behavior still need broader play coverage;
  • some terrain and scene-dressing visuals remain provisional;
  • the forage proof camera was partly obstructed by a boulder, although the complete input/action/inventory sequence and animation-finished event passed.

Extract the entire ZIP before running Vandrel.exe. Press F1 in game for controls and inspection tools. The build is unsigned, so Windows may display an unrecognized-app warning.
