What is this Python project?
This package provides geo data from GeoNames loaded from local files. The package is on pypi and can be installed using pip.
What's the difference between this Python project and similar ones?
No external HTTP requests, only file io for quick access to data such as country information including iso codes, city data for cities with a population greater than 15000, as well as US states and counties including FIPS codes.
Anyone who agrees with this pull request could vote for it by adding a 👍 to it, and usually, the maintainer will merge it when votes reach 20.
