First public release of i2Message — a fast, keyboard-first macOS client for iMessage.

Highlights

  • Fast transcripts — paged loading keeps huge conversation histories smooth, with stable scroll position.
  • Search — exact and semantic search over your local messages; everything stays on-device.
  • Threads — Slack-style reply threads with a dedicated panel and swipe-to-thread.
  • Send from the app — replies go out through Messages (1:1 and group chats).
  • Clickable links — URLs in bubbles open in your default browser.
  • Clean bubbles — iMessage link-preview plugin payloads no longer show up as junk file attachments.
  • Contacts & tapbacks — names and photos resolved from Contacts; tapbacks render inline.

Install

  1. Download i2Message-0.1.0.dmg below and drag i2Message to Applications.
  2. Launch it. The app is signed and notarized, so Gatekeeper opens it directly.
  3. Grant Full Disk Access (to read the Messages database) and Contacts access when prompted — the in-app banners have Fix buttons that deep-link to the right System Settings panes. Until then the app runs on demo data.
