vsp360-mcp is a community MCP server for the Hitachi VSP 360 1.4 REST API. It lets Claude, or any other MCP client, work with VSP 360 in plain language: check alerts and cluster health, find devices and volumes, query performance through Analytics, read logs, and, if you allow it, run workflows and make changes.

It covers all 264 operations in the VSP 360 Platform OpenAPI spec and is read-only by default.

Not an official Hitachi Vantara product: vsp360-mcp is an independent, community project, and isn't supported by or affiliated with Hitachi Vantara.

At a glance

• Three discovery tools (search, describe, call) reach every operation without loading 264 tool schemas into each conversation. You can also add direct tools for the API areas you use most.
• Plain-language search ranks operations with BM25, storage-vocabulary mapping and example questions, and says how confident it is in its top result.
• Safe defaults: writes are refused, the one read that returns a live secret is refused, downloads stay in one folder, and uploads in read-only mode need a folder you chose.
• Built in: OAuth client-credentials sign-in with token refresh, pagination, streamed downloads and uploads (including multi-GB upgrade packages), private CA support, and an Analytics (MQL) field reference.
