HiDPI makes the cursor permanently too large on Intel #5792
|
I have this issue with BetterDisplay 4.3.6 on macOS 15.7.9. My setup:
I enabled flexible scaling and selected 2048x1152 HiDPI. The same thing happens with other HiDPI resolutions, including 2064x1161. The desktop scales correctly, but the mouse cursor becomes permanently very large, roughly the same size as macOS’s temporary “shake to locate” cursor. Its size does not change when switching between HiDPI resolutions. Switching back to native 2560x1440 LoDPI immediately makes the cursor normal again. The pointer size is set to the default ( Is this a known macOS/BetterDisplay issue on Intel Macs? Is there any workaround? |

This is a generic macOS GPU driver bug if you use HDR. This is fixed on Apple Silicon from the start, but somehow Apple never got to fix this issue on Intel. I recommend turning HDR off. (I assume this is the cause, although the issue description does not mention HDR) |
