v1.3.0 - The (Re)Binding of Isaac: Rebind Controls + Save Converter + Tons of Fixes!
Full controller menus, control rebinding, a save converter for your Flash progress, and a long list of fixes
from your first reports. Thank you to everyone who played 1.2.0 and wrote in!
⌨️ Control rebinding
- New Rebind Controls entry in Options → Controls (from the main menu or the pause screen).
- It shows the controls of the device you are playing with, and you can switch device inside it:
- Keyboard: every action (move, shoot, bomb, active item, card/pill, pause).
- Controller: every action, plus which stick moves. PlayStation and Switch button names.
- Touch: which side moves, joystick size and joystick type (type 1: fixed base, type 2: the base
follows your finger).
- Press the new key or button and it swaps places with whatever had it. Reset to defaults restores the original
layout. Everything is saved inisaac.ini.
🎮 Menu with controllers revamp!
- The selected option is written in red (with the game's own rollover art), on PC, Android and Switch, in the
three versions of the game. - D-pad / left stick choose the nearest option in that direction, A / ✕ presses it, B / ◯ goes back
(and closes the pause screen). - Works everywhere: challenges list, collection items (D-PAD bugged for now), options, credits... Every screen opens on its first option.
💾 Save converter (Flash ⇄ IsaacRecomp)
tools/save_converter.htmlin every package: open it in any browser (offline, nothing is uploaded).- Converts the Flash game's
so.solto IsaacRecomp and back, for the original game, Wrath of the Lamb and Eternal
Edition. Stats, items, secrets, bosses, unlock order, hard mode and the lefty/AZERTY options carry over. - Based on the converter made by g333nza (#6). Thanks!
🐛 Fixes
- Mouse: the pointer turns into a hand over anything clickable, like in the original.
- Hearts: with more than 12 hearts, -LIFE- now switches to its smaller 24/48-heart layout like the original,
instead of the first hearts staying big and overlapping (#8). - Tears no longer appear for an instant below Isaac's head before jumping up to it (#7).
- Stuck shooting: holding the stick or D-pad into the boss "VS" screen or a pause could leave Isaac shooting by
himself. Keyboard, touch and every part of the controller no longer interfere with each other. - The Hourglass: slowed bosses no longer fire twice per attack, and the Widow no longer spawns twice the spiders.
- Boss fights on touch: a finger kept on the joystick through the boss intro keeps moving Isaac (he used to
stand still until you lifted it). - Credits: Credits → Credits plays the credits again instead of returning to the menu at once.
- PC audio with controllers: connecting a DualSense / DualShock 4 / Xbox controller no longer makes the game's
sound disappear (Windows moved it to the controller). The game keeps its speakers and still follows you when you
switch to other speakers or headphones. It's not perfect. If the game starts with a controller connected, there may be
no sound. If that's the case for you, until a fix is released, connect the controller after starting the game. - Android fixes:
- choppy "motor-like" sound on some phones and tablets (most of every block of sound was dropped);
- changing the audio output (headphones, Bluetooth) could crash and restart the game;
- the bomb counter, active item, card/pill and pause button are much easier to tap on wide or small screens.

Updating from 1.2.0: replace the program files. Your saves and isaac.ini keep working (new options take their
defaults). On Android, if the update refuses to install over the previous version, uninstall it first: saves and
settings are kept in the IsaacRecomp folder.
