LogSalvo 2.3.1
LogSalvo 2.3.1
This is the first public release under the LogSalvo name: a substantial evolution of the original Random Syslog Sender into a branded, standards-aware syslog traffic studio for sending, receiving, inspecting, filtering, and exporting syslog messages.
Highlights
- Cross-platform PySide6 desktop application with dedicated Send and Receive workspaces.
- CLI and GUI backed by the same tested sender core.
- RFC 3164 and RFC 5424 generation over UDP, TCP, and TLS.
- Configurable local UDP/TCP receiver with live filtering, parsed detail, bounded retention, and CSV/JSONL/raw export.
- Parsing for RFC 3164, RFC 5424, PRI-only messages, structured JSON, Cisco IOS, generic CEF, and UniFi CEF/device logs.
- IPv4/IPv6 support, RFC 6587 framing, certificate validation, optional mTLS, source binding, retries, rate control, and message templates.
- The Tech Shed branding, responsive forms, application versioning, copyright details, and current interface screenshots.
2.3.1 fix
UniFi CEF events that use a BSD-style timestamp and hostname prefix without a <PRI> header are now recognised correctly. The envelope timestamp and hostname are retained, while the CEF header and extensions populate the receiver fields and structured detail.
