This release marks an important milestone.

Over the past months, we carefully reviewed your feedback and asked ourselves how we could make the experience better, smoother, and more reliable.

As a result, we carried out a deep round of improvements to address the main open issues.

We rebuilt the board’s communication stack from the ground up to make it stronger, faster, and far more reliable.

It is now significantly faster and more dependable. So, for everyone who was still using USB only, it might finally be time to put the cable aside.

Jokes aside, please do not actually throw away the cable, because the next big topic is battery charging and the reported battery percentage.

This part has also been rewritten from scratch to make it much more accurate, stable, and reliable.

The reported battery percentage is now more accurate, and the board should no longer stop charging or get stuck unexpectedly.

Overall, this release brings you a much more stable and reliable experience.

  • New charging controller, rewritten from scratch.
  • New indicator that lets you know when there is a genuine charging issue. You’ll see an orange flash.
  • Improved memory management for a smoother, more stable experience over time.
  • More reliable sleep and wake-up, including waking the device over USB.
  • Low-battery indicator, so you know when the charge is getting low.
  • Plenty of smaller fixes, most of them so quiet you probably never noticed.
  • You can now exit bootloader mode by pressing the rear button. Finally. :-)
