Why On Record is under WritersLogic

On Record is hosted under WritersLogic because WritersLogic is led by its founder and CEO, David Condrey. David lived without stable housing for several years and still has close friends who are homeless. He offers support when he can while protecting his own safety and boundaries.

That history explains the project’s origin. It does not make one person a spokesperson for everyone who is homeless. The project must keep listening to people living outdoors now, people who have moved into housing, advocates, providers, businesses, and public officials.

WritersLogic provides a stable home for code, security reporting, documentation, and accountability. It does not own anyone’s story. Hosting this project does not authorize the organization, its CEO, contributors, providers, or the public to identify, contact, photograph, investigate, or speak for a person who made a request.

Lived experience should change design decisions, not become a marketing credential. WritersLogic should seek consent, share power with affected people, compensate expertise where possible, publish limitations, and stop a feature that makes people more visible without making them safer or better able to get help.
