v0.3.0
What's changed
skillctrl now keeps acquisition, direct editing, and deliberate hash recording separate. Use the same basic commands locally and in automation:
skillctrl update chosen-skill
# Inspect the diff and saved intent, edit the skill, and verify it.
skillctrl record chosen-skill
skillctrl check- Familiar
find, add, list, update, andremovecommands, withsearch, install,ls, andrmaliases. Acquisition defaults to the pinnedskillsexecutable;--adapteraccepts onlyskills,gh, orgit. - Add and merge share positional
owner/repo:skillinputs. Single-input add supports--name; merge creates routing to complete originals underreferences/<upstream-skill-name>/. - Native registrations remain compatible with root
skills-lock.json. Aliases, merged inputs, and supplementary provenance live in.agents/skillctrl/upstreams.json. Independent native changes/removal invalidate stale supplementary metadata. - The distributed skillctrl skill is itself managed as a merged skill, with saved integration intent and a verified whole-directory hash. Self-contained AI setup is in
docs/start.md; maintained Japanese documentation is indocs/ja/.
Migration from v0.2.x
This minor release changes command behavior in the pre-1.0 CLI.
-
add, merge, andupdateonly acquire/register originals. They do not invoke AI or advance accepted hashes. Edit skill and intent files directly, verify, then runrecord NAME. -
Only skills with both upstream registration and saved intent enter accepted hashes.
recordwith no names only prunes ineligible hashes and accepts no content. -
checkreports local drift offline and exits successfully when differences are found. It never fetches upstreams or judges intent. For a Bash CI gate:set -euo pipefail skillctrl check | jq -e '.local.lock_changed == false'
-
ci,schedule, intent, status, plan, prompt, andschemaare removed. A scheduler callsupdate; the existing agent reviews/edits/verifies; Git/GitHub CLI publishes through a PR. The CLI never starts AI, creates worktrees, commits, pushes, or opens a PR. -
Operate in the current repository; use
cdto select another repository.--repo,--worktree-provider, and--fromare removed. -
Legacy registrations remain readable. Recognized skillctrl metadata moves out of the native lock only after a successful import; read-only commands and dry runs do not migrate files. Existing numeric merged layouts update in place; explicit re-merge creates the named reference layout.
-
Install the skill separately from the CLI using
skillctrl add wwwyo/skillctrl:skillctrl. Follow your repository's exact pinning and release cooldown policy for acquisition tools.
See command details and automation.
