Languages — the ones you translate into, and the ones the interface is
written in.

Translation engines

Google Translate now offers 250 languages instead of 66, and Yandex 119
instead of 94. Neither list had gone stale; they had simply stopped growing
while the services did not. The lists are taken from the services themselves
and were checked by translating a line into a sample of the new ones — Amharic,
Aymara, Bhojpuri, Khmer, Lao, Maori and Zulu on Google; Ossetian, Yakut,
Chuvash, Chechen, Bashkir, Komi, Erzya and Brazilian Portuguese on Yandex.

Three Yandex languages carried a stray space in their name — "Afrikaans " never
matched the "Afrikaans" the language detector produces, so automatic detection
could not select them.

DeepL stays at 30. Its web interface and its documentation both offer around
113, but the endpoint this talks to serves the classic set and answers nothing
for the rest: Russian and Japanese come back translated, Hebrew and Vietnamese
come back empty. Offering them would have meant choosing a language and
silently getting nothing.

Interface

The Russian interface was missing 120 strings. Everything added recently — the
whole XIV Rus Translation section, the daily check and what it reports,
resetting settings, the Gemini model box, the About page — showed in English.
All of it is translated now, and the English catalogue has caught up with what
the application actually asks for.
