RoweMod 0.5.8 - Gravity fix

Choose a tag to compare

@xrowex xrowex released this 24 Sep 22:42

Fixes Gravity incorrectly showing Load a park to edit when you are already skating in a park.

  • Removes the incorrect park-readiness check against Unreal's gravity cache flag.
  • Sets the world gravity override and cached value together so the engine does not overwrite your chosen gravity.
  • Restores the map's original gravity override on Reset and keeps jump prediction synchronized.
  • Shows a gravity-specific status if world gravity is unavailable instead of always asking you to load a park.

Existing users: launch Rollout to download the update, close Rollout and RoweMod Online so it installs, then reopen. Use F5 > Movement > Gravity.

New users: download RoweMod-0.5.8.zip, extract the whole ZIP and run install.cmd. UE4SS and the Skeleton body are included.

Validation: Lua regression checks cover the false cache flag, engine recalculation, reset, respawn, map travel, and menu error messages. The complete release's deferred installer and asset checks are also tested. Actual in-game gravity behavior still needs a gameplay retest.

RoweMod 0.5.7 - Automatic skeleton installation

Choose a tag to compare

@xrowex xrowex released this 24 Sep 00:21

RoweMod now includes the realistic Skeleton body. Existing users receive it through the normal automatic update; no separate body download or installer is needed.

Install or update

  • Already using RoweMod: start Rollout to download the update, close Rollout and RoweMod Online so it installs, then start the game again.
  • New users: download RoweMod-0.5.7.zip below, extract the whole ZIP, and run install.cmd. UE4SS is included.
  • Select Skeleton in Character customization > Body. Clothes and skates use the normal customization controls.
  • Everyone in a multiplayer session should update to receive the same skeleton assets.

Changes

  • Bundles the skeleton mesh, materials and body-selector preview with automatic installation, checksums, backups and rollback. Existing prototype files update in place; unrelated clothing mods and personal settings are preserved.
  • Fits the ribs and sternum inside the stock torso and shares the body's spine weights to address the hoodie chest clipping.
  • Keeps multiplayer player/status rows stable while refreshing, preserves selection and scroll during menu updates, and adds a RoweMod shortcut to the native pause menu.

Validation

51 Python tests and 19 Lua suites passed. Fresh installation, replacement of the older skeleton, damaged-file rejection, copy-failure rollback, and the complete deferred automatic-update flow passed. The cooked skeleton matches all 87 native rig bones; five offline hoodie pose checks passed.

The chest correction and pause-menu shortcut still need checks with actual in-game animations/input. Multiplayer remains experimental; the larger-lobby visibility issue still needs a live four-PC retest.

Anatomical surfaces are adapted from Z-Anatomy / BodyParts3D under their Creative Commons attribution/ShareAlike terms. Attribution and original license notices are included. The mod code's MIT license does not replace the model license.

Use the RoweMod ZIP, not GitHub's Source code archives. Windows may request administrator access if the Steam library requires it.

RoweMod 0.5.6 - Player list and diagnostics

@xrowex xrowex released this 23 Sep 21:42

RoweMod 0.5.6

Multiplayer now shows a live player list with host/you badges, each player's park and local avatar status. It distinguishes connecting, waiting for poses, map loading/mismatch, interrupted movement and avatar failures. The menu also shows the installed version.

Copy Diagnostics gathers transport counters and per-player pose/avatar status into a report for support. It uses player aliases instead of account IDs, names or the session code, and never uploads anything. If the clipboard is unavailable, the report remains in diagnostics-copy.txt under %TEMP%\RoweModMP\Steam. The Steam companion must be running.

Two visibility-related safeguards are included: incomplete companion status reads no longer clear the host role/avatars, and a Lua render error for one remote avatar no longer stops every other avatar in that render pass. Neither establishes the exact cause of the previously reported host-visibility failure.

Validation: 51 Python tests and 18 Lua suites, covering player rows, host badges, diagnostic redaction/fallback, stale diagnostics, host-role retention on partial reads, explicit leave cleanup and isolated renderer failures. Automated checks use mocked engine objects; native appearance and the reported four-PC session still need live acceptance.

Extract RoweMod-0.5.6.zip and run install.cmd, or let the automatic updater finish with Rollout and RoweMod Online closed. Settings are preserved.

RoweMod 0.5.5 - Automatic update cleanup

@xrowex xrowex released this 22 Sep 21:26

RoweMod 0.5.5

Updates now clean up after themselves. After a successful install, completed installation copies and updater-owned downloaded/extracted packages are removed. The two newest successful recovery backups are kept per game installation. Failed backups, newer pending updates, unknown folders, settings, saves and other mods are preserved.

Repeated launches reuse a verified pending update instead of downloading it again. Damaged or modified cached packages are rejected and downloaded afresh.

Cleanup stays inside RoweMod's local cache directories, skips active downloads and refuses junctions or linked trees. Manually extracted folders and ZIPs in Downloads are left to the user. Older unmarked download caches are preserved; successful old installation copies are matched to backup receipts.

Validation covers retention, completed staging/cache removal, active-download protection, future updates, failed backups, other installations, unknown folders, junction safety, installer rollback, cached-package integrity and the full deferred update flow. This release makes no new claim about the unresolved live host-visibility test.

Close the game and RoweMod Online to let an automatic update finish, or extract RoweMod-0.5.5.zip and run install.cmd.

RoweMod 0.5.4 - Multiplayer visibility fixes

@xrowex xrowex released this 22 Sep 19:07

RoweMod 0.5.4

Fixes reproduced causes of missing skaters in larger Steam lobbies:

  • Share congested connections fairly across all skaters, including the host. Keep only each player's newest pending pose; expire stale poses instead of building a backlog.
  • Give the host relay a receive budget for all lobby members while retaining individual player limits.
  • Refresh cached introductions when a player announces a new map, so roster heartbeats cannot reintroduce the previous map.
  • Record per-player transport counters and visibility/map/asset errors in local diagnostics.

Validation: 49 Python tests and 18 Lua suites passed. New regression tests failed before the fix: a constrained four-player link showed only one origin, relayed origins shared one receive budget, and cached introductions retained an old map. Tests now cover sustained four-player traffic, a late joiner, equal turns under congestion, latest-pose expiry, leave cleanup, separate map gates and isolated missing-asset errors.

These are automated transport/mailbox and mocked-engine Lua tests. The exact reported four-PC failure has not been verified against the reporters' logs. A live four-player Steam retest is still needed, including all three remote avatars on every screen.

Everyone should update to 0.5.4, close Rollout and RoweMod Online, and restart before testing. Existing installations can auto-update after closing. For manual installation, extract RoweMod-0.5.4.zip and run install.cmd. Settings are preserved.

If someone is still invisible, collect visibility.txt and steam_status.json from %TEMP%\RoweModMP\Steam on the affected PCs. They distinguish missing poses, congestion, map gates and unavailable outfit assets. Nothing is uploaded automatically.

RoweMod 0.5.3 - simpler multiplayer and automatic map loading

Choose a tag to compare

@xrowex xrowex released this 22 Sep 17:11

RoweMod 0.5.3

Multiplayer now has separate Join and Host views with spaced sections and
full-width actions. Code entry and session details are tucked away until needed.
The active-session view shows players, park and Leave Session.

Opening Multiplayer starts Steam and searches for friends automatically. Host or
join requests made during startup finish when Steam is ready, even if the menu
is closed. The visible browser refreshes periodically.

Joining automatically loads the host's stock park. Further host park changes are
followed too. Loading uses verified package paths, ignores repeated load requests,
and waits for the destination and player spawn before acknowledging arrival and
resuming skater sync. Timeout/failure status includes a retry action.

Automatic loading supports Outdoor Skatepark, The Big Hall and Observatory.
Custom maps and clothing assets are not downloaded. Both players should update.

Validation: 17 Lua suites and 43 Python tests, including the actual Lua session's
map gate, arrival acknowledgement, host authority, reconnect state, and host
changes during loading. Native UMG appearance and a two-PC map transition still
need in-game acceptance.

Download RoweMod-0.5.3.zip, extract, close the game and companion, then run
install.cmd. Existing installations can also auto-update after closing.

RoweMod 0.5.2 - menu and Steam startup fixes

Choose a tag to compare

@xrowex xrowex released this 22 Sep 16:52

RoweMod 0.5.2

Repairs the multiplayer menu's widget lifecycle: text drafts are captured before
the old page is detached, and stale text-box/status references are released.
This addresses a plausible cause of the reported crash when returning to the
Multiplayer tab. The exact user's crash cannot be confirmed without its log/dump;
please retest repeated tab changes with this build.

Steam startup now replaces the starting footer with live readiness or error
information, times out after 30 seconds without a response, and reports hidden
companion startup failures in the game. Wait for Steam ready, then choose
Host Friends or Find Friends. Starting the companion does not itself join
a multiplayer session.

Also includes the audited slider ranges and fixed numeric formatting, recovery
for excessive old preset values, and Movement > Gravity (0.25x–2.00x).

Download RoweMod-0.5.2.zip, extract everything, close Rollout and RoweMod Online,
and run install.cmd. UE4SS is bundled. Existing 0.5.1 installations can also
receive this through automatic updates after closing the game and companion.

Validation: 15 Lua suites and 43 Python tests passed, including detached-widget
access guards, startup errors/timeouts/readiness, settings migration and gravity
reset/map travel. In-game tab-crash retesting, gravity feel, and complete
two-account internet play remain pending.

RoweMod 0.5.1

Choose a tag to compare

@xrowex xrowex released this 22 Sep 02:53

Install

  1. Download RoweMod-0.5.1.zip below.
  2. Extract the whole ZIP and close Rollout and RoweMod Online.
  3. Double-click install.cmd. The tested UE4SS version is included.
  4. Launch Rollout from Steam, load a park, and press F5.

Download the RoweMod ZIP under Assets, not Source code.zip. No separate UE4SS or Python installation is needed.

Multiplayer

Both players install this version and load the same map. Open F5 > Multiplayer > Start Steam Connection. One player chooses Host Friends; the other chooses Find Friends > Join. Public sessions and joining by lobby ID are also available.

Included

  • Live Movement, Tricks and Balance settings with Save and Reset. Camera tab removed.
  • Steam friends/public sessions and independent remote skaters with clothes and boots.
  • Automatic update checks at game launch. Updates install after Rollout and the companion close.
  • Backups and preservation of personal settings and unrelated mods.

Gameplay/menu use and independent LAN movement have been tested locally. Full two-account internet validation is still pending.

Validation: 41 Python tests, 11 Lua suites, fresh/repeat installer and rollback checks, and a deferred 0.4.0-to-0.5.1 update test.
