Custom Gimmicks
To make your custom mega Pokémon you start of with registering your custom mega stone
data/namespace/mega_showdown/mega/abomasite.json
{
"showdown_id": "abomasite",
"pokemons": ["Abomasnow"],
"aspect_conditions": {
"apply": {
"aspects": ["mega_evolution=mega"]
},
"revert": {
"aspects": ["mega_evolution=none"]
}
}
}-
showdown_id*: This is supposed to be the exact same as the showdown item name you can refer to Custom Held Item to check how to make custom showdown held items, as for how to make a mega stone in general you can refernamespace/mega_showdown/held_items/slowbronite.js
({
name: "Slowbronite",
spritenum: 620,
megaStone: { "Slowbro": "Slowbro-Mega" },
itemUser: ["Slowbro"],
onTakeItem(item, source) {
return !item.megaStone?.[source.baseSpecies.baseSpecies];
},
num: 760,
gen: 6,
isNonstandard: "Past",
}) -
pokemons*: This will have the species name of all the Pokémons which can be evolved using this stone. -
aspect_conditions*: This is a universal(mostly) field which tells what aspects to apply and under only which conditions they can be applied you can refer Aspect Conditions.
For the Mega to work you would need a few things
To make a mega form you can refer how Cobblemon makes forms, so you can either put it in species file if its your Fakemon or you could use Species Additions if it's an existing mon. You can refer to Species Additions from Cobblemon wiki.
To assign the mega feature to the Pokémon you have 2 ways
Put feature_name: "Mega Evolution" in species_additions/species
{
"target": "cobblemon:eevee",
"features": ["mega_evolution"],
"forms": [
{
"name": "Mega",
"primaryType": "fire",
"abilities": [
"flamebody",
"h:drought"
],
"aspects": ["mega"],
}
]
}Or
Put your Pokémon in Species Feature Assignment
So make a file in data/namespace/species_feature_assignments/mega_evolution.json and add it
{
"pokemon": [
"eevee"
],
"features": [
"mega_evolution"
]
}To add a custom tera you would first require to make a custom type, you can refer Custom Types, after that you would need to define a color shader for your tera
assets/namespace/mega_showdown/tera_map/unique_name.json
{
"aspectShaderMap": {
"msd:tera_yourtype": "red",
"msd:tera_yourtype2": "red"
}
}Currently the supported colors are red, blue, green, yellow, brown, light_blue, purple, pink, black, gray, light_grey, orange, lime, teal, indigo, magenta, tan, navy, white.
Similar to how you add Pokémon's, you can add/replace custom Tera Hats as well. You would need 3 thing -
- Animations (Optional)
assets/namespace/bedrock/generic/animations/custom_hat.json
- Model File
assets/namespace/bedrock/generic/models/custom_hat.geo.json
- Variations File (basically just a resolver)
assets/namespace/bedrock/generic/variations/2_custom_hat.json
{
"name": "cobblemon:tera_hat",
"order": 2,
"variations": [
{
"aspects": [],
"poser": "cobblemon:tera_hat",
"model": "namespace:custom_hat.geo",
"texture": "namespace:textures/tera_hat/tera_hat.png"
}
]
}You can apply layers and stuff same as in Pokémon and you must call the animation idle (if you want one that is, since its optional) since that's the only state it can have. Incase you want to replace MSD Hats you may look here.
data/namespace/mega_showdown/gmax/squartle.json
{
"pokemon_showdown_id": "squartle",
"gmax_move": "gmaxbefuddle"
}-
pokemon_showdown_id*: Showdown Pokémon Id of the Pokémon you want the ability to Gmax -
gmax_move*: Showdown move id you want to use as the gmax move you can refer Custom Showdown Moves to checkout how to make custom moves, and refer this Showdown Example on how to make a gmax move.
Additionally you would need to add a form called GMAX in the species file as well like here.
data/namespace/mega_showdown/z_crystal_item/waterium_z.json
{
"showdown_item_id": "aloraichiumz",
"color": "yellow"
}-
showdown_item_id*: This is supposed to be the exact same as the showdown item name you can refer to Custom Held Item to check how to make custom showdown held items, as for how to make a z crystal in general you can refer Showdown Z Crystal. -
color*: This is the glow color the Pokémon receives during the z move, these are the possible colors as of now red, blue, green, yellow, brown, light_blue, purple, magenta, black, gray, lime, indigo, tan, white.
