v0.3.1 — DSH 0.1.6-alpha.2 compatibility

dsh-explain v0.3.1 adds support for DSH 0.1.6-alpha.2 and retains all eight previously verified hosts, including npm latest/next 0.1.5-rc.2.

• Fix source navigation and Explain shortcuts for the updated Session API. Disposed Session references cannot redirect a delayed click into another draft.
• Verify live disable/re-enable through Plugin Manager, including cleanup and single-instance restoration of styles, shortcuts and the Learning view.
• Extend the repository’s exact-version dependency workaround for the upstream client-store package. The upstream package issue remains tracked in Discussion #6082.
• Keep existing learning data compatible: SQLite schema 4 and backup v3.

For npm latest/next, use 0.1.5-rc.2 in both commands. Open Settings → Learning to configure the auxiliary model. Git-hosted plugins build during installation; follow any profile-specific pnpm build approval prompt.

Verification

The release is pinned to add65031db18b8be7faba05cc9a49a22f0b54329. Release PR and main CI: published-package checks plus nine exact-source host jobs, covering 87 unit/integration tests, 7 Web scenarios and 3 M6 scenarios per host. Exact compatibility evidence.

Post-publication verification: installing #v0.3.1 into a fresh isolated DSH 0.1.6-alpha.2 profile resolved the release commit, built both plugin entry points and rendered Settings → Learning with no browser errors. Machine-readable verification.

These compatibility checks use isolated, keyless fixtures. The September 15 real-model acceptance remains scoped to DSH 0.1.6-alpha.1. The previous v0.3.0 tag does not include alpha.2 client compatibility fixes.

• Spaced review uses recall, application and distinction questions, semantic auxiliary-model assessment, and a persistent 1/3/7/14/30/60-day schedule.
• Learner preferences and topic familiarity are inspectable and editable. Explicit preferences take priority over user corrections, then model inference.
• Backup v3 includes review outcomes and preference audit history. Confirmed clear removes learned content while preserving settings and used autonomous quota. SQLite schema 4 remains supported.
• Improve long-running learning, rephrasing, context compaction, weak-concept state, diagnostics and stale-work cancellation.
• Session source reads use cancellable asynchronous pages, preserving exact answer coordinates and excluding private context. Clearing data fences history reads that are still in flight.
• Documentation links work when reused by community directory renderers.

Supported fixed hosts: 0.1.2-rc.1, 0.1.3-alpha.1, 0.1.3-alpha.2, 0.1.5-alpha.1, 0.1.5-alpha.2, 0.1.5-rc.1, 0.1.5-rc.2 and 0.1.6-alpha.1. npm alpha is 0.1.6-alpha.1; the default latest channel remains 0.1.5-rc.1 as of September 15. Pin the host explicitly.

Compatibility details include exact host commits and the repository-scoped workaround for missing upstream store dependencies. Independent host tests do not promise downgrade compatibility for Session files written by newer hosts.

Validation

Release commit: 5ee46f2c8fa5c473316af292cdbcd6b664a68d8b. PR #41 and merged-head CI passed all nine jobs: published-package verification and eight assembled hosts. Each source host passed typecheck, 84 unit/integration tests, build, 7 Web scenarios and 3 M6 shortcut scenarios. A fresh GitHub full-commit installation also built the host/client package and rendered the real Web learning settings without page errors.

Real-model acceptance used the official deepseek-flash Messages route on DSH 0.1.6-alpha.1. Automatic explanation, rephrase, preference correction retained after compaction, correct and incorrect semantic review, exact-answer learning, export and clear all passed. The exported sample contained 5 learning entries and 2 review attempts; clear preserved settings and used quota. Screenshots, public inputs, hashes and data counts are included.

Only review due times in the isolated test database were advanced; model outputs were real. This sample validates the current workflow, not general teaching effectiveness. Runtime code is identical to PR #40 / de416e535ced1ee7e786effec9328986aefc0f90; the release follow-up adds documentation and evidence and stabilizes Web fixture selection for already selected sessions.

v0.2.0 makes local learning data portable and safely erasable without weakening Explain’s privacy or cost controls.

Added

• Versioned export: download dsh-explain-backup-v1.json from Settings → Learning → Data management. It contains learning cards, Topic state, and the public ExplainContext projection.
• Safe clear: after exact CLEAR confirmation, Explain cancels and fences in-flight generation before clearing learned content in one SQLite transaction.
• Settings and budget protection: provider/model, enabled state, settings revision, and current rolling 24-hour autonomous usage survive the clear, so it cannot bypass the cost cap.
• Repository trust: CI, contribution guidance, issue/PR templates, security policy, private vulnerability reporting, and a social preview are now live.

Privacy boundary

Exports exclude full source sessions, private sourceSummary data, credentials, raw tool results, and absolute host paths. Import and cloud sync are intentionally not included in this release.
