SANE binary frames (like PBM) use 1 = black ink and 0 = white paper. The
Binary/Lineart conversion set the bit for bright pixels instead, so the
Dynamic Web TWAIN demo rendered black text as white on a black page. Dark
pixels now set the bit; the self test verifies both polarities.
