Furniture Guide
Most of this furniture does something. This page covers the interactions that aren't obvious.
Creative — everything lives in one Cozy CIT tab. The buttons down the left side filter it by pack, so you aren't scrolling through two thousand items to find a chair.
Survival — use a stonecutter. Each piece is cut from the vanilla block it's made of: put oak planks in a stonecutter for the oak furniture, iron blocks for the fridges and appliances, glass bottles for the mirrors, and so on. That means furniture costs one block each and no crafting table recipes to memorise.
Drawers, cabinets, cupboards, wardrobes and fridges open a 27-slot inventory — same size as a chest. Right-click with an empty hand.
Handle direction — wall cupboards and drawers decide which side the handle sits on from where on the block you click. Click the left half and you get a left-hand handle. Place two side by side, clicking outward on each, and you get a matched double-door pair instead of two identical doors.
Stacking half-drawers (Heritage) — place one and you get the upper drawer. Right-click it with another copy of the same item and the lower drawer stacks into the same block space, exactly like slabs. Breaking a doubled drawer gives both items back. Both halves share one 27-slot inventory.
Right-click a sofa or chair to sit on it. Sofas connect to their neighbours automatically — place several in a row and they form one continuous couch with arms only on the ends, and corner pieces fill in where two runs meet.
Right-click a lamp or lantern to switch it on and off. The lit version emits light; the dark one doesn't.
One item covers both forms: place it on the floor for the standing lamp, or against a wall for the wall-mounted version. String lights work the same way from walls or ceilings.
Right-click a sink with a water bucket to fill it. Sinks hold three levels — click again with another bucket to raise the water. Right-click with an empty bucket to scoop a level back out and get your water bucket back.
Deep sinks (butler sinks, bucket sinks) counter-sink into whatever you place them on, so they sit flush in a counter rather than perching on top of it.
Table leg + trapdoor — place a table leg, then right-click it with any wooden trapdoor. The trapdoor becomes the tabletop inside the same block, so the table is one block tall and the space above it stays free for plates and candles. The trapdoor's wood decides the top's colour.
Trestle tables — place them next to each other and the legs connect into one long table.
Tablecloths and runners — right-click the table itself with the cloth. The cloth replaces the table in its own cell rather than sitting in the space above it, so you can still put dishes on top. Break the cloth and the table comes back unharmed.
Right-click a vanilla bed with a deco bed item and the frame snaps over it. You can still sleep in it — it's the same bed underneath. Break the frame to take it off; the vanilla bed stays where it was.
Place the deco bed on the vanilla bed's foot end.
One potted-plant item gives you three different forms depending on where you place it:
| Placed on | You get |
|---|---|
| The floor | Standing pot |
| A wall | Wall-mounted basket |
| The underside of a block | Hanging basket |
Flower hedges and gift bushes drape over existing blocks, including leaves, so you can dress up an existing hedge without rebuilding it.
All 150 shop signs accept iron brackets and frame decorations — right-click the sign with one to attach it. Break the sign and the decorations pop back off as items.
The mod's own item frames mount on walls, floors and ceilings. Put any item in, then right-click to rotate it.
- Shutters fold open and closed with a right-click.
- Towel racks hold up to 32 different towels — right-click the rack with a towel.
- Toilet-paper holders mount flush against a wall, with the roll facing out into the room.
- Standing mirrors and folding screens (Heritage) are placed like ordinary blocks; mirrors face the way you're standing.
Everything breaks by hand and drops itself. Blocks that hold something else — cloth-covered tables, stacked drawers, decorated signs, deco beds — return both parts.
