Interface
sendkeybindings (ctrl+alt+g = send git status\r): type canned input into the focused pane, Windows Terminal'ssendInput- Programming ligatures:
==>,!=,::shape through the font; the bundled Maple Mono ships them, ligatures=falseopts out - Per-tab color (mouse or palette), drop a folder on the tab strip to open a tab there, searchable tab switcher
font_weightpicks the base text weight;min_contrastlifts unreadable text to a WCAG ratio;background_imagedraws a PNG behind the panes- wt-style layout verbs:
termie new-tab -d C:\ ; split-pane -H --shell cmdscripts a window - New admin window relaunches elevated with the same shell and directory, marked with a chip
- Ctrl+Shift+N new window, select all, word movement in mark mode, quake drop-down hotkey
- Scripted key input (
--drive) plays a timed key script without stealing focus
Terminal fidelity
- Kitty unicode placeholders (
U=1+U+10EEEEcells): images drawn through the text layer, so they survive scrollback, copies, and screen rewriters - Kitty placements move the cursor like text, z-index stacking, and the full scoped-delete table: by id, id range, cell, column, row, or z layer
- Chunked image uploads that name an id now display; huge images render downscaled instead of vanishing
- Kitty keyboard flags 8 + 16: report-all-keys and associated text
- IME composition renders inline at the cursor; torn-off windows accept IME, key releases, and focus reports
- Emoji ZWJ sequences occupy one cell and ligate
- CMD shell integration, real tab stops, DECALN, IRM insert mode, X10 mouse fallback to SGR, combined DECSET, honest
$TERM_PROGRAM
Performance & security
- A grid cell is 24 bytes, down from 32: a quarter off all scrollback memory
- Image memory is bounded as a whole (256 MB budget), and the glyph atlas repacks at most once per frame under hostile streams
