Welcome to the dadsdns wiki!

As children grow older, mobile phones and other electronic devices start getting into their hands. At Hamro Pathshala, we have observed that by the age of 10, most kids start using phones on their own. This helps them learn new things and find answers to their questions. At the same time, it also makes millions of unwanted websites with malicious content, adult content, gambling and fakenews websites just a click away. Such websites and their content are not for our kids.

Although this problem cannot be fully eliminated, there are many ways to reduce this exposure. One such method is to use DNS filtering. Hamro Pathshala and ANFS have deployed a domain name system (DNS) based solution called 'DadsDNS' that blocks access to harmful websites. Mobile phones, laptops and home routers can be configured to use this solution for FREE, making the internet a little safer for our growing young and curious minds.

The system is built on top of CloudFlare's family DNS service with added restrictions to build further protection for our children.

If you like to use DadsDNS to restrict your children from accessing millions of such websites, please see Set-up.

If you would like to install your own DNS server and build more restrictions, you can follow the Install link to learn how to do it yourself.
