@MatheusFerreiraS MatheusFerreiraS released this 20 Oct 03:55

OpenNR Installer v0.8.5

  • OptiScaler 0.5.6-opennr, with mochizuki 0.0.7 (Natural and Cinematic graded like NVIDIA's DLL) and lmxxf 0.44.
  • lmxxf's Small model: on RX 9070 and RX 9060 cards the OptiScaler route installs NVIDIA 310.9.16's Small model for lmxxf (native-game-tiled-assets\small\, about 100 MB to download, once), about a third faster than the 71-block one. Uninstall removes it.
  • Xbox / Game Pass games: a game whose folder holds gamelaunchhelper.exe is read as the executable MicrosoftGame.Config names, or the likeliest one below the package root, also when the helper was picked by hand. Yakuza: Like a Dragon got OptiScaler beside the helper, where frame generation could not find its DLLs and the screen went black.
  • The installer never takes its own executables for the game (person protection's worker, the 32-bit hosts, WrongGPU's setup): in an XXMI folder with no game executable, person-model\person-worker.exe was picked, every later install went into person-model\ and the update never cleared.
  • The ReShade add-on stays v0.7.14.

v0.8.4 - OpenNR Installer

@MatheusFerreiraS MatheusFerreiraS released this 19 Oct 05:39

OpenNR Installer v0.8.4

The project is called OpenNR now. This installer is OpenNR Installer (OpenNR-Installer.exe, new logo), and the repositories moved to zmodelerlover/OpenNR-Installer, zmodelerlover/OpenNR-Extras, zmodelerlover/OpenNR-ReShade and MatheusFerreiraS/OpenNR-OptiScaler (the old addresses redirect). Installers from before update themselves as usual; the file you already have keeps its name.

  • OptiScaler 0.5.5-opennr and the add-on v0.7.14 (its panel is OpenNR in ReShade's Add-ons tab). Files in the game folder keep their names, so every setting stays.
  • Games read as D3D11 that are D3D12: a game whose executable imports no graphics API and whose module beside it imports dxgi.dll alone is read as D3D12 when it ships DirectStorage or the Agility SDK (Gears of War: E-Day).
  • WrongGPU: when its setup refuses, the report gives the reason from WrongGPU's own log (an anti-cheat installed for another game, WG-SETUP-4, was reported as a missing DLSS), and the problem report includes that log.
  • mochizuki's float-colour-shared mark is removed on uninstall with its other files.

v0.8.3

Choose a tag to compare

@MatheusFerreiraS MatheusFerreiraS released this 18 Oct 20:33

v0.8.3

Installs OptiScaler 0.5.4-amd-nr, mochizuki 0.5.4 with NVIDIA's 310.9.16 model, and the add-on v0.7.13. Your OptiScaler and ReShade games show an update.

  • 32-bit DX11 and OpenGL games are recommended OptiScaler when 0.5.4 is picked: the 32-bit dxgi.dll or opengl32.dll goes beside the game and OptiScaler with its 64-bit host in OptiScaler64\, with NR on and NR without upscaling. 32-bit DX8 games stay on ReShade.
  • mochizuki's new model (dlssnr-small.bin, about a third faster) goes in on both routes, beside the 310.8 one, with the RenoDX stage shaders, ACO and int4. The add-on v0.7.13 runs the same mochizuki 0.5.4.
  • Person protection (OptiScaler 0.5.4, off by default in its menu) gets its person-model\ folder on RX 9000: the worker, ONNX Runtime and the three person models, with their licences.
  • WrongGPU (phantoslayer21's DLSS 4.5 super resolution, Model M, RX 9000): an opt-in box on the OptiScaler route, off by default, for 64-bit games. Ticked, the installer converts its model with WrongGPU's own setup from a DLSS file on your PC (or NVIDIA's own nvngx_dlss.dll 310.9.1 from NVIDIA's GitHub when there is none) and points OptiScaler.ini at it. In the game pick FSR, then WrongGPU in OptiScaler's FSR version list. Shipped with the author's permission.
  • Uninstall also takes mochizuki's build markers and int4 caches, person protection's log, WrongGPU's logs, and the 32-bit OpenGL proxy's log. The problem report adds those logs.

The auto updater will fetch this.

First time? Download AMD-NR-ReShade-Installer-v0.8.3.7z and extract it. The exe needs the three .json files beside it.

v0.8.2

Choose a tag to compare

@MatheusFerreiraS MatheusFerreiraS released this 15 Oct 21:15

v0.8.2

Installs OptiScaler 0.5.2-amd-nr and mochizuki 0.5.2 (ACO and int4). Your OptiScaler games show an update.

  • OptiScaler is recommended on DX10 games and on 32-bit DX9 and DX10 games when 0.5.2 is picked. A 32-bit game gets the 32-bit d3d9.dll or dxgi.dll beside it and OptiScaler with its 64-bit host in OptiScaler64\; uninstall takes all of it back. 32-bit DX11 and OpenGL games stay on ReShade.
  • mochizuki is the default runtime on RX 9000 in a fresh OptiScaler.ini (with or without an upscaler), with ACO on and the int4 mixed network beside it. RX 7000 and RX 6000 keep danielblnc's runtime. Uninstall also takes the caches mochizuki writes.
  • The problem report adds Unity's Player.log, Windows' crash reports and crash dumps from the last 14 days, and the logs of a 32-bit game's OptiScaler64\ folder.
  • A Streamline file renamed in the game folder (sl.common.bak.dll, which crashed The Last of Us Part I) is warned about before installing.

The auto updater will fetch this.

First time? Download AMD-NR-ReShade-Installer-v0.8.2.7z and extract it. The exe needs the three .json files beside it.

v0.8.1 hotfix 3

@zmodelerlover zmodelerlover released this 07 Oct 22:12

v0.8.1 hotfix 3

  • A copy of amdhip64_7.dll in the game folder is now flagged. NR loads that copy before the AMD driver's own, and a copy that does not match the driver (the HIP SDK's, for example) finds no GPU, so NR never runs and nothing says why. Before installing, the installer now tells you to move it out of the game folder. A copy identical to the driver's is left alone.
  • The problem report explains it too: when the logs say HIP found no GPU, the Diagnosis at the top of report.txt names the cause.
  • Ships with the payload that offers OptiScaler 0.5.1-amd-nr.

v0.8.1 hotfix 2

@zmodelerlover zmodelerlover released this 07 Oct 20:20

v0.8.1 hotfix 2

  • OpenGL games that also import dxgi.dll are detected as OpenGL. Firestorm (the Second Life viewer) asks DXGI for the adapter's VRAM and was offered the D3D11 route, which left NR not working. It now gets the OpenGL route.
  • The NR runtime section says what goes in on RX 9000. mochizuki has had no tick box since v0.7.11: on an RX 9000 card it always goes in beside danielblnc's runtime, and you pick between them in the add-on's panel (ReShade) or OptiScaler's Neural tab. That note used to sit in a tooltip, so it looked like mochizuki was gone. It is now written under the section.

If you are still on v0.8.1 and every install fails with InvalidOperationException: Reflection-based serialization has been disabled, update: that was fixed in hotfix 1, and this build includes it.

v0.8.1 hotfix 1

Choose a tag to compare

@zmodelerlover zmodelerlover released this 07 Oct 19:50

v0.8.1 hotfix 1: installs work again

v0.8.1 failed every install with InvalidOperationException: Reflection-based serialization has been disabled for this application. This build fixes that. Everything else is the same as v0.8.1.

If you went back to v0.8.0, the auto updater offers this one.

To keep this from shipping again, the tests now run the way the published installer runs, and a build that would hit it fails before it can be released.

v0.8.1

@zmodelerlover zmodelerlover released this 07 Oct 08:54

Green noise on OptiScaler fixed, add-on v0.7.12, and an installer that tells you what went wrong

Installs add-on v0.7.12. OptiScaler stays at 0.5.0-amd-nr and mochizuki at 0.4.10. Your ReShade-route games show an update.

Fixes

  • Green noise on the OptiScaler route with danielblnc 0.6.0. That runtime reads a pre-exposure value OptiScaler 0.5.0 does not send, and some sessions turned the frame into green noise. dlssnr_on_amd.ini now gets UsePreExposure=0 (the rest of the file is kept), on install and on update.
  • "Some add-ons were not loaded because this build of ReShade has only limited add-on functionality." On Vulkan, a ReShade layer registered for the whole PC (an old or normal ReShade in C:\ProgramData\ReShade) won over ours and left the add-on out. The install now stops and says how to fix it: run the ReShade 6.8.0 Addon setup as administrator, or uninstall that ReShade so the installer registers its own.
  • Godot 4 games get the API they really use, read from the game's own project settings: Vulkan, D3D12 or OpenGL (Compatibility). When the settings can't be read, the recommendation is marked as a guess.
  • lmxxf only on RX 9000. On other cards an OptiScaler.ini naming lmxxf runs danielblnc instead, and lmxxf's weights and kernels (about 590 MB) are no longer downloaded or installed.
  • Installing while the game runs is refused, naming the process, and the game sheet offers to close it after asking. A log the game still holds no longer fails an uninstall.
  • A ReShade loaded as an .asi through Ultimate ASI Loader is detected, instead of ending with two ReShades in the game.
  • Fallout 4 and Batman: Arkham Knight are no longer recommended OptiScaler, which does not start or crashes there (#8). ReShade works on both.
  • Unstable danielblnc builds on an RX 9000 with OptiScaler get a warning recommending 0.4.3.
  • Clearing the download cache keeps the covers you picked.
  • The OpenGL and Vulkan routes warn when the game's files point at another API.
  • Two engine errors ("Uninstall previous preset before changing API", "Manifest config mismatch") are explained in plain words, with Clean up and retry.

Problem reports

  • report.txt opens with a Diagnosis: limited add-on build, a second ReShade, mochizuki short of VRAM, a GPU reset, repeated crashes, an unstable runtime running inline. Each one quotes the log line that shows it.
  • The report now includes:
    • the card and driver;
    • the runtime build;
    • OptiScaler's NrBackend and AmdAsync;
    • the ReShade actually loaded;
    • crash.log.
  • The installer's own crashes are written to crash.log with the time and version. One crash in the window no longer closes the app.

New

  • Change cover… in the right-click menu of a game in the library (#21).

Add-on v0.7.12 (with v0.7.11):

  • Dragon Age: Inquisition starts again.
  • danielblnc 0.6.0 gets a defined pre-exposure.
  • mochizuki says when it refuses the network and puts back the last Scale and Passes that worked.
  • Feed.fx takes motion from the provider it was compiled for.
  • D3D11 depth is picked among buffers of the screen's shape by the draws made into them.
    See their release notes.

v0.8.0

Choose a tag to compare

@MatheusFerreiraS MatheusFerreiraS released this 07 Oct 02:23

OptiScaler 0.5.0 on every API: NR without upscaling and XeFG frame generation.

Installs OptiScaler 0.5.0-amd-nr. The add-on stays at v0.7.10 and mochizuki at 0.4.10. Your OptiScaler games show an update.

  • OptiScaler is now recommended on every 64-bit D3D9, D3D11, D3D12, Vulkan and OpenGL game when 0.5.0 is picked, with or without DLSS, FSR or XeSS. Picking an older OptiScaler brings back the old recommendation (D3D12 games with an upscaler). 32-bit games and emulators stay on ReShade.
  • It goes in under the right name for the API: opengl32.dll, d3d9.dll, winmm.dll for Vulkan, dxgi.dll for D3D11 and D3D12. A name you pick, or the one the OptiScaler wiki gives, still wins.
  • NR without upscaling is on in a fresh OptiScaler.ini. Where the game's upscaler is on, NR runs inside it instead. On an RX 9000, lmxxf is the runtime only where the game has an upscaler; elsewhere it is danielblnc's, the one NR without upscaling runs on.
  • Better upscaler detection: subfolders (Unity's _Data\Plugins) and upscalers built into the executable.
  • Another AMD NR mod in the folder is named before installing, and its OptiScaler.ini goes to the backup instead of staying.
  • Uninstalling forgets the version picked for that game, and picking the newest no longer pins it.
  • OptiScaler 0.5.0: XeFG 2X to 8X on all those games, with NR on or off; lmxxf updated to 0.41 (Style works at 720p); the Cyberpunk flicker with temporal on is gone; the 0.4.11 fixes.

XeFG in short: in game press Insert → Neural → Enable NR. Under Frame Generation set FG Input to OptiFG (Upscaler) and FG Output to XeFG, Save Settings, restart the game. Then tick Active under Frame Generation (XeFG) and pick the MFG count. End switches it on and off. D3D11 and D3D12 games need borderless or windowed mode.

Do not use it in online games with anti-cheat.

The auto updater will fetch this.

First time? Download AMD-NR-ReShade-Installer-v0.8.0.7z and extract the whole folder. The exe needs the three .json files beside it.

v0.7.12

Choose a tag to compare

@MatheusFerreiraS MatheusFerreiraS released this 06 Oct 03:56

The Witcher 3 with OptiScaler NR, no async by default, and GhostNappa's Assetto Corsa fixes.

Installs OptiScaler 0.4.11-amd-nr. The add-on stays at v0.7.10 and mochizuki at 0.4.10. Your OptiScaler games show an update.

  • The Witcher 3 is found as the game (bin\x64_dx12\witcher3.exe, the DX12 build with the upscalers) instead of REDprelauncher.exe.
  • danielblnc's unstable versions no longer go in async. Timing stays on its default; async is still a click away in the menu.
  • OptiScaler 0.4.11:
    • danielblnc's runtime and lmxxf keep running through a game's dynamic resolution. In The Witcher 3, danielblnc kept switching off and on and lmxxf never ran.
    • lmxxf runs in games that trace rays in the same pass as the upscaler (it said split ineligible: state_object).
    • Assetto Corsa with CSP: the menu takes clicks, and mochizuki and lmxxf run there. Both from GhostNappa's fixes.

Do not use it in online games with anti-cheat.

The auto updater will fetch this.

First time? Download AMD-NR-ReShade-Installer-v0.7.12.7z and extract the whole folder. The exe needs the three .json files beside it.
