Running a Bout

POÄNG's essential functions are triggered by keypresses in the main window. They aren't mnemonics in the sense that the letter on the key determines the function; rather, it's the position on the keyboard that's supposed to be memorable. POÄNG considers the team on the left to be the Home team and the team on the right to be the Visitor team.

Command Keys

B: Advance does "the right thing" based on the current status of the bout. If a jam is running, this switches to the lineup. If the lineup is running, this starts the next jam. Before the game and during intermission, this readies (but does not start) the period clock. At the end of a period, this moves into intermission, overtime, or final.

N: Official Timeout stops all clocks. Press N again to resume from the current position, or B to start the next phase. For instance, if there's fifteen seconds left in the lineup when an official timeout is called, pressing N will continue running the fifteen seconds off the lineup clock, while B will start the next jam.

G: Home / J: Visitor Lead Jammer sets the current lead jammer. This is only effective while a jam is in progress, and it is cancelled automatically at the end of the jam.

H: No Lead Jammer clears the current lead jammer. This is only effective while a jam is in progress. Note that there is a slight semantic difference between "No Lead Jammer" (the jam will be going the full two minutes) and "No Lead Jammer Yet" (a jammer is still eligible to become lead).

Q: Home / ]: Visitor Increment Score Increments the team's total and jam scores by one. Press shift to increment the total score but not the jam score. Jam scores are cleared at the beginning of the next jam.

W: Home / [: Visitor Decrement Score Decrements the team's total and jam scores by one. Press shift to decrement the total score but not the jam score.

Z: Home / /: Visitor Timeout Begins a timeout. When the timeout runs out, a 30-second lineup clock will begin with the period clock still stopped, as per WFTDA 2.6.3.1.

Jammers

Each player in the list has a checkbox next to her name, indicating who is jamming for each team. In the default FRAMSTÅ scoreboard display, the jammer's photo and name are shown on her side of the scoreboard. Checking a box replaces the previously-selected jammer; unchecking a box clears the selected jammer.

Displays

All loaded media is shown in a list on the right-hand side of the main window. You can change the display by clicking the check mark next to its name. Checking a box replaces the previously-selected display; unchecking a box replaces the display with the first item in the list. I recommend that the first item in the list be your scoreboard display, though this is not required.

An upcoming release will allow you to rotate through a number of selected slides automatically and trigger slides by pressing top-row keys.

Other Changes

All clocks can be set manually in the main window. Click in the appropriate text field, type the new time in the format "mmss" (no colon necessary), and press Enter to accept or Esc to cancel. All clocks will continue to run as usual while you are editing.
