Quran Caption v3.6.71

This major update adds seven new Quran riwayat, expands batch processing with AI-powered actions, introduces meaning-aware subtitle splitting, improves video transitions, and adds more flexible export range selection.

Quran Riwayat

  • Added seven KFGQPC riwayat with their dedicated Quran text, fonts, mappings, and verse numbering:

    • Warsh
    • Qalun
    • Shu'bah
    • Duri
    • Susi
    • Bazzi
    • Qunbul

    They can now be selected directly from Arabic → Riwayah.

    Quran Caption can therefore render projects using the proper text and typography for each supported riwayah instead of relying only on the default Hafs text.

AI Subtitle Splitting

  • Added meaning-aware AI subtitle splitting

    Subtitles exceeding a selected word limit can now be split using AI while trying to preserve meaningful phrases instead of cutting purely based on word count.

Batch Processing

  • AI subtitle splitting and AI translation trimming can now be run across all projects in a batch.

  • Added persistent statuses to batch cards

    Batches can now have statuses such as exported, to translate, etc., just like regular projects.

  • Added homepage filters to display:

    • projects only
    • batches only
    • both

  • Batch project navigation is now always available from the title bar, even when there is no remaining review step.

  • The currently active editor tab is preserved when navigating between projects in a batch.

  • Moved the Create Batch button above the project list for easier access.

  • The QuranReflect panel is no longer shown after every individual video during batch export.

Video Transitions

  • Improved crossfade editing directly from the timeline

    Video clips can now overlap when using a crossfade transition.

    The duration of each crossfade is automatically determined by the actual overlap between the two clips.

  • Fixed video overlaps remaining when switching from Crossfade to Fade Through Black.

  • Added clearer explanations for Crossfade and Fade Through Black behavior.

Timeline

  • Added Y shortcut for quick subtitle merging

    Pressing Y toggles the nearest merge/split point around the timeline cursor.

Export

  • Added verse-range selection for exports

    In addition to selecting an export range using timestamps, you can now select the start and end verses with a dual verse slider.

  • Fixed exports at very small resolutions

    Quran Caption now automatically falls back to libx264 when the selected dimensions are below the minimum supported by H.264 NVENC.

  • Verse numbers now remain visible between subtitle splits belonging to the same ayah instead of fading out and appearing again.

Translations

  • Faster translation fetching from existing projects

    Source projects are now loaded concurrently and reused instead of being repeatedly loaded.

  • Updated batch projects are now included when searching for reusable translations.

  • Fetching translations from another project now only retrieves the translation text

    Individual word styles and WBW mappings from the source project are no longer copied unintentionally.
