Newer version: v0.5.0 fixes a crash when taking the train to another town on 64-bit devices and empty speech bubbles in the translations.

64-bit support. One APK now contains arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a, so it installs on devices without 32-bit support (Galaxy Z Fold 7/8, recent Snapdragon 8 Elite phones, AYN Odin 3, …). 64-bit-capable devices use the 64-bit build automatically.

The APK still contains no game data – you need your own USA disc image (GAFE01). HD textures and translations are fetched/generated on your device as before.

Tested

  • AYN Odin 3 (arm64 only): title, dialogs, village with all buildings, house interior, notice board, inventory, camera, touch overlay, Gyroid save/load, HD pack download + conversion, German translation from the EU disc
  • iPlay60 mini Turbo: same save running on the 64-bit and the 32-bit build (saves are compatible between both)

How the 64-bit build works

Based on the 64-bit PC-port work by Marco Andronaco (birabittoh) and chasem-dev, adapted so that the 32-bit build compiles to the same code as before. Fixes on top include the N64 matrix layout (long is 8 bytes on 64-bit – this made every building invisible), message-queue variable widths, and pointer-sized actor/menu fields.

Notes

  • APK size grew to ~62 MB (two native builds + two Python runtimes)
  • Signed with the same key as v0.3.0, so it updates v0.3.0 in place
  • Built with AI coding agents – Z.ai (GLM), OpenAI Codex and Claude – under human supervision
