🗂️ shelf - Organize Apps, Links, & Snippets Easily

Download shelf

📋 What is shelf?

Shelf helps you organize your favorite apps, web links, and note snippets in one easy-to-access place. It creates multiple floating shelves on your screen. Each shelf works like a mini toolbox that stays visible while you work. You can quickly find and open what you need without cluttering your desktop or hunting through menus.

Shelf is great for anyone who wants to keep important tools and information close at hand. Whether you are a student, professional, or just someone who likes to stay organized, shelf helps you save time and reduces distractions.

🖥️ System Requirements

Shelf works on both Windows and macOS computers. Here are the basic needs:

  • Windows 10 or later
  • macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later
  • At least 4GB of RAM
  • 100 MB of free disk space
  • Internet connection for downloading and updates

Shelf runs on most laptops and desktops. It does not require a powerful machine, but a modern operating system helps ensure smooth operation.

🔑 Key Features

  • Multiple floating shelves you can place anywhere on your screen
  • Organize apps, web links, and notes into separate shelves
  • Customize shelves’ size and transparency
  • Drag and drop items to rearrange easily
  • Quick access via keyboard shortcuts
  • Save shelves’ layout and content for the next use
  • Minimal impact on system resources

These features help you create a workspace tailored to your needs. You can keep project links separate from daily tools or have quick notes always visible.

❓ Troubleshooting

Here are some common problems and how to fix them:

  • Shelf won’t open after install
Restart your computer, then try opening the app again. Make sure your antivirus or firewall is not blocking shelf.

  • Items not opening when clicked
Check that the apps are still installed or that the URLs are valid.

  • Shelves don’t stay on top
In settings, enable the “Always on top” option.
