Socket.io lets you make namespaces and rooms. These are both ways to segment activity and add specificity to emitted events over a TCP connection.

Namespaces

Namespaces are a way to make different namespaces and paths for socket connections.

Rooms

Rooms are a way to make specific, arbitrary connections between sockets.
