UI, Stability & Performance Improvements

This release focuses on refining Odeon's interface, improving playback reliability, and addressing a large number of stability issues across subtitles, audio, playlists, navigation, and player controls.

Alongside the visible improvements, extensive under-the-hood changes were made to make Odeon more reliable and efficient during playback and UI interactions.

  • Added chapter segments to the seekbar for clearer chapter navigation.
  • Added chapter previews to the seekbar tooltip while hovering or scrubbing.
  • Added dividers between playlist videos for clearer separation.
  • Added smooth spring animations to subtitle, audio, and playlist panels.
  • Added a dedicated subtitle position slider with live positioning and quick reset.
  • Added improved controls and visual feedback throughout the player interface.

🗑️ Features Removed

  • Removed Light Mode and made Odeon exclusively dark.
  • Removed inconsistent theme options from Settings.
  • Removed the previous glassmorphic button styling in favor of a unified button design.
  • Removed the old subtitle up/down positioning buttons.
  • Removed unnecessary focus behavior and default UI focus visuals.

Major Playback & UI Overhaul

A major rebuild of Odeon focused on a new playback foundation, a redesigned interface, improved subtitle and audio controls, and a cleaner codebase.

The biggest change in this release is the complete migration from LibVLC to libmpv, providing a simpler and more modern foundation for playback.
