• Rebuilt the Android notification small icon from the user-approved monochrome preview rather than from a simplified geometric approximation.
• The final artwork is stored as one evenOdd vector silhouette so the square/diamond framework, architectural ribbons, central mihrab, crescent, and negative space remain visually consistent with the application launcher identity.
• Applied the exact same pathData to the themed launcher monochrome layer and ic_muslim_status_bar_v2029, preventing themed-icon and notification surfaces from drifting apart.
• Performed optical tuning for the smallest 24dp presentation: tiny extraction gaps were closed and sub-pixel details were strengthened while preserving the approved overall silhouette.
• Android continues to own the final notification tint and status-bar rendering; the application supplies a transparent, opaque-white monochrome mask only.

Android 8 / Instrumentation Reliability

• Added an API 26-compatible foreground-location permission fallback for instrumentation tests while retaining the platform runtime-permission API on newer Android versions.

What changed

The prayer-location and notification contract guard now verifies that CI continues to execute the prayer-time GPS instrumentation suite and the Qibla instrumentation suite. It also verifies that the dedicated Qibla compass accessibility regression remains present in the repository.

This prevents future workflow or test refactors from silently removing coverage for the most sensitive user-facing paths: recovering from GPS failures, preserving a successful current-location flow, exercising the real timezone index, and exposing the Kaaba marker description to screen readers.

No prayer-time formula, MWL 17° Isha rule, GPS behavior, sensor-fusion calculation, notification identity, or local-first privacy contract was changed.

What changed

The Qibla compass now has a dedicated instrumentation regression test that renders the compass content and verifies that the Kaaba marker description is exposed through the Compose semantics tree. This protects the TalkBack experience against future UI refactors and ensures that the marker remains understandable without relying on visual rendering alone.

The test uses a deterministic presentation model and does not request real location data or sensor input. It therefore validates the accessibility contract without weakening the app’s GPS or sensor lifecycle. The Compose test implementation was aligned with the project’s supported testing APIs and the locale-safe resource policy.

Verification

The GPS, Isha, AudioTrack, notification, and direct-customization contract checks passed. What changed

The Qibla compass now exposes a clearer semantic description to TalkBack and other screen readers. The description identifies the phone heading and explicitly explains that the Kaaba marker represents the calculated Qibla direction, so the compass remains understandable without relying on visual color, shape, or emoji rendering alone.

The Arabic and English Qibla resources now carry the new accessibility wording, while the project’s intentional partial-translation policy is preserved with a narrowly scoped Lint annotation. No prayer-time formula, bearing calculation, sensor-fusion rule, or GPS location flow was changed.
