v0.4.3
If the 0.4.2 dropdown showed a square frame inside the rounded panel on macOS 26, this release fixes it.
Fixed
- Doubled, square-cornered frame around the dropdown on macOS 26. 0.4.2 was built with Swift 6.4, whose default build system records the deployment target (13.0) as the SDK the binary was linked against. macOS treated the app as pre-26 and drew the legacy square panel inside the Liquid Glass window. The release binary now records the SDK it was actually built with, and the build refuses to continue if it does not.
- Finder showed every release since 0.3.0 as version 0.2.0. The bundled
Info.plistnow carries the real version.
Install/upgrade: brew upgrade --cask claude-usage (after the cask bump lands), or grab the notarized zip below.
v0.4.2
If you installed 0.4.0 or 0.4.1, the app quit immediately on launch. Please upgrade to 0.4.2.
Fixed
- Crash at launch on every machine but the build machine. 0.4.0 and 0.4.1 loaded the bundled artwork through SwiftPM's
Bundle.module, which only looks at the .app's root and at the absolute.buildpath of the Mac that compiled it — never atContents/Resources, where the release puts the resource bundle. Installed copies trapped with "could not load resource bundle" before showing anything. The artwork is now resolved fromContents/Resources, withBundle.moduleas the fallback. (Thanks @1ypen, #1.) - Build failure on Swift 6.1. The compiler timed out type-checking a string concatenation in the ISO 8601 parser; it is now built from separate appends. (Thanks @1ypen, #2.)
Changed
- The release script now launches the finished .app with the build machine's resource path hidden and refuses to ship if it exits, so this class of crash cannot reach a release again.
Install/upgrade: brew upgrade --cask claude-usage (after the cask bump lands), or grab the notarized zip below.
v0.4.1
⚠️ This version quits immediately on launch (the artwork bundle could not be found outside the build machine). Use v0.4.2 instead.
Changed
- Bar colors follow percentages again. 0.4.0 colored usage bars by the server's
severity, but the server reports "normal" well past 50% (observed at 67%), so the yellow/red warnings effectively never showed. Bars are back to the local thresholds: green below 50%, yellow from 50%, red from 80%.
Install/upgrade: brew upgrade --cask claude-usage (after the cask bump lands), or grab the notarized zip below.
v0.4.0
⚠️ This version quits immediately on launch (the artwork bundle could not be found outside the build machine). Use v0.4.2 instead.
Fixed
- Daily re-login into Claude Code. The app self-refreshed Claude Code's shared OAuth token; because Anthropic rotates refresh tokens (single-use), that invalidated Claude Code's own copy roughly once a day and forced a re-login. Self-refresh is now off — the app reads the token read-only and never rotates it.
Added
- Per-model weekly usage. Reads Anthropic's new
limits[]field and shows a "Current week ()" row (e.g. Fable), replacing the empty legacy "Sonnet only" row. - Server-driven bar colors from the usage
severity. - Clawd menu-bar icon (tinted) and the Claude spark in the dropdown header.
Install/upgrade: brew upgrade --cask claude-usage (after the cask bump lands), or grab the notarized zip below.
v0.3.1 — fix hang from stale hooks after upgrade
Fixes a hang for users upgrading from 0.2.x.
0.2.x installed --hook-relay hooks in ~/.claude/settings.json. 0.3.0 removed that mode, so Claude Code's Stop hook booted the GUI app (whose run loop never exits) and the terminal hung on "running stop hooks…".
0.3.1 makes the binary exit immediately when invoked with --hook-relay, and removes the leftover hook entries on launch (another tool's hooks are preserved). Independently verified with codex.
v0.3.0 — context moves to the status line
Context-window usage moves out of a second menu bar widget and into Claude Code's status line (e.g. Opus 4.8 · 11% · 113K/1M).
Because each terminal pane renders its own status line, it always shows the session you're looking at — fixing the wrong-session mismatch seen in multi-pane setups (tmux, cmux). The window size (200K/1M) and token counts now come straight from Claude Code's context_window payload, so there's no transcript parsing or limit guessing.
Removed: the context menu bar widget and all active-session tracking it required (the --hook-relay hook, transcript parsing, the 200K/1M detection ladder, tty-atime focus). The menu bar now shows usage only; existing --hook-relay hooks are cleared from ~/.claude/settings.json.
v0.2.1 — Follow the focused pane
What's changed
- The context widget now follows the pane you're actually looking at. Active-session
ranking keys off the last real user turn in the transcript instead of the file's
mtime, so a backgrounded pane no longer overtakes the focused one. - tty keystroke focus is trusted only for sessions active within the last 15 minutes,
so a long-idle session can't be resurrected by a stray tty read. - The usage and context menu-bar popups now show one at a time.
v0.2.0 — Context window widget
Added
- Context‑window widget: a second menu bar item showing the live context occupancy of the Claude Code session you're currently typing in — a
scrollglyph plus the occupied percentage, styled to match the usage widget. - Occupancy is read from the local transcript (
~/.claude/projects/<cwd>/<uuid>.jsonl); no server API involved. - Automatic 200K vs 1M context‑window detection (recorded
/contextoutput,<budget:token_budget>tag, model facts, occupancy ratchet,[1m]keys). - Active‑session identification via a self‑installed Claude Code hook relay plus a tty‑atime bridge — the widget follows whichever terminal pane you last typed in, with no Accessibility permissions and terminal‑agnostic.
- The hook is installed idempotently into
~/.claude/settings.jsonon first launch, preserving existing hooks.
