Features and Configuration
Andy's Comforting Campfires uses a fixed survival progression. There is no global settings menu, operator command, purchase interface, ownership system, or per-player configuration.

|---|---|
| Comforting Campfire | Intermittent Regeneration I in five blocks while lit |
| Hearthfire | Continuously refreshed Regeneration I in eight blocks while lit |
| Community Comfort | Continuously refreshed Regeneration I in 64 blocks while lit |
| Comfort Lantern | Intermittent Regeneration I in three blocks while placed |
| Hearth information | Crouch + interact with a tracked hearth |
| Hearth upgrades | Shaped Crafting Table recipes only |
| Comfort cooking | Normal placed-on-campfire mechanic |
| Persistence | World records keyed to dimension and exact block coordinates |
| Move intact | Silk Touch |
| Non-Silk hearth break | Structural material recovery; Golden food is not refunded |
| Action | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Place a custom item on a solid block | Places and records its equivalent vanilla block |
| Interact normally with a hearth | Preserves normal campfire food placement |
| Crouch + interact with a hearth | Opens the information panel |
| Extinguish / relight | Disables / resumes hearth aura and runes |
| Break with Silk Touch | Preserves custom item family and tier |
| Break without Silk Touch | Dismantles a hearth into its recovery materials |
Lanterns have no menu or upgrade tier. Their aura remains active while the placed record and expected Lantern block are loaded.
The aura includes players, villagers, common companion animals, and entities Minecraft exposes as tamed. The explicit companion set includes wolves, cats, parrots, horses, donkeys, mules, llamas, and trader llamas.
Hostile mobs are not healed.
- Base and Lantern healing intentionally pulse because their effect duration is shorter than the refresh interval.
- Hearthfire and Community Comfort refresh before Regeneration I expires.
- Community Comfort reaches 64 blocks but does not force chunks to remain loaded.
- Comforting food provides short Regeneration I without replacing normal survival food planning.
- Golden Carrots, Golden Apples, the Enchanted Golden Apple, and Comforting recipe foods are not refunded by non-Silk hearth recovery.
There is no add-on particle toggle. Minecraft's own particle and graphics settings control client visibility.
- Standard graphics supported
- Vibrant Visuals supported
- Eight randomized rune glyphs
- Full-scale rune fields for hearths
- 52%-scale rune fields for Lanterns
- Enchanted-style inventory shimmer on custom hearths, Lanterns, and finished Comforting foods
See Lanterns and Particles for every palette.
The add-on leaves ordinary vanilla blocks unchanged and records only its crafted custom placement items. It does not automatically recognize third-party Campfires or Lanterns. Custom Lantern placement currently requires a solid support surface and a clear block space above it.
