Getting Started
Minecraft Bedrock 26.30 or newer is required. Both included packs must be active. Cheats, commands, experimental gameplay toggles, and additional dependencies are not required.
Create a backup before installing or updating any add-on in an important world.
- Download
Andys_Comforting_Campfires_0.1.7.mcaddonfrom the official project page. - Open the file with Minecraft Bedrock.
- Wait for successful Behavior Pack and Resource Pack import messages.
- Create a world or edit the world where the add-on should be used.
- Open Behavior Packs → My Packs.
- Activate Andy's Comforting Campfires [BP].
- Open Resource Packs and confirm Andy's Comforting Campfires [RP] is active.
- Enter the world.
The packs have reciprocal dependencies and are intended to remain paired at the same version.
Download the .mcaddon, open or share it to Minecraft, wait for both packs to import, and activate both packs on the intended world. Exact file-sharing steps vary by platform and operating-system version.
Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch generally do not provide the same arbitrary local .mcaddon import flow. Import and activate the add-on on a supported Windows or mobile device, upload that prepared world to a Realm, and join the Realm from the console.
Activate both packs on the world before uploading or starting it. Joining players must accept the world's required Resource Pack so custom item presentation and rune particles display correctly.
- Back up the world.
- Import the newer
.mcaddon. - Wait for Minecraft to confirm the updated packs.
- Edit the world and verify that version 0.1.7 of both packs is active.
- Remove or deactivate obsolete duplicate copies.
- Completely leave and reopen the world before testing.
Placed records are designed to persist when the same project UUIDs are updated.
Use a Crafting Table:
| Golden Carrot | Amethyst Shard | Golden Carrot |
|---|---|---|
| Golden Carrot | Campfire or Soul Campfire | Golden Carrot |
| Golden Carrot | Amethyst Shard | Golden Carrot |
The output is a custom Comforting Campfire item with enchanted-style shimmer.
- Hold the custom Comforting Campfire.
- Interact with the top of a solid support block.
- Make sure the block space directly above the support is clear.
- Keep the item selected until placement completes.
- Stand within five blocks while the fire is lit.
Orange and red floating runes identify an active base Comforting Campfire. A Soul version retains the Soul Campfire's vanilla flame appearance while using the same orange/red tier palette.
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Normal interaction with a hearth while holding supported food | Places food for normal campfire cooking |
| Crouch + interact with a hearth | Opens tier, radius, and cooking information |
| Extinguish a hearth | Stops healing and rune particles |
| Relight a hearth | Resumes healing and rune particles |
| Break with Silk Touch | Returns the matching custom item and preserves hearth tier |
All upgrades happen in a Crafting Table. There is no upgrade-purchase menu.
- Read Recipes for Hearthfire, Community Comfort, and Lantern layouts.
- Read Comfort Food before crafting Community Comfort or a Comfort Lantern.
- Read Harvesting and Persistence before moving an upgraded hearth.
