Getting Started

Requirements

• Minecraft Bedrock 26.30 or newer
• The included Behavior Pack and Resource Pack at the same version
• No cheats, commands, experimental gameplay toggles, or additional add-ons required
• A Crafting Table for rune crafting

Install on Windows or mobile

1. Download Andys_Soulbound_Graves_0.1.36.mcaddon from an official project page.
2. Open or share the file to Minecraft Bedrock.
3. Wait for both Andy's Soulbound Graves [BP] and Andy's Soulbound Graves [RP] to import.
4. Create a world or edit an existing world.
5. Activate the Behavior Pack.
6. Confirm the linked Resource Pack is also active.
7. Enter the world.

Back up an important world before installing or updating an add-on.

Consoles and Realms

Import and activate the add-on on Windows or mobile, upload the prepared world to a Realm, and join from Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch. Minecraft supplies the required world packs through the Realm.

Update safely

1. Back up the world.
2. Import the new .mcaddon.
3. Confirm both linked packs show the same new version.
4. Deactivate old duplicate copies if Minecraft retained them.
5. Leave the world completely and reopen it before testing.

Protect the first death

1. Obtain an Amethyst Shard. This unlocks the Soulbound Rune I recipe.
2. Craft Soulbound Rune I at a Crafting Table.
3. Move it to the off-hand/shield slot.
4. Check its lore: Tier I begins with three uses.
5. Die on ordinary supported terrain for the safest first test.
6. Respawn and look for a renamed native Recovery Compass.
7. Hold it in the selected hotbar slot and follow its guidance.
8. Find the marker, excavate the coarse dirt, and expose the skeleton.
9. Hold the matching compass and interact with the remains.

Recommended first-world test

Use a backed-up test world with no other add-ons active. Carry several unmistakable items in different inventory slots and wear armor. Put the rune in the off-hand, die from a short fall on level Overworld terrain, and verify:

• No protected items remain as permanent loose drops
• A complete gravesite appears
• The rune is not still on the respawned player
• A Recovery Compass arrives after respawn
• The skeleton is buried rather than lying exposed
• Excavating and using the compass restores armor, off-hand rune, and inventory
• The rune lore shows one fewer use

A complete Overworld gravesite marks the burial plot and records the owner and Minecraft death day.

After that succeeds, test multiplayer, water, timers, and Tier IV lava behavior separately.

Pack-icon verification

Both pack enable menus should display the square Andy's Soulbound Graves artwork. A blank or old icon usually means Minecraft retained a duplicate pack; remove the obsolete copy and import the current .mcaddon again.
