Compatibility and Troubleshooting
| Minimum Bedrock version | 1.26.30 |
| Platforms | Windows, Android, iOS, and consoles through a Realm |
| Graphics | Standard graphics and Vibrant Visuals |
| Experimental toggles | None required |
| Cheats | Not required for any player-facing feature |
| Dependencies | None |
| Achievement compatible | Yes — verified in a cheats-off survival world with no experiments |
| Dimensions | Overworld, Nether, and End |
| Multiplayer | Single-player, multiplayer, Realms, and compatible Bedrock servers |
Both packs must be active and both declare the same minimum engine version. Joining players must accept the Resource Pack or they will not see tool sprites or outlines.
| Setting | Stored on | Shared? |
|---|---|---|
| Tool availability (the five family toggles) | The world | Yes — every player is affected |
| Break shape (pattern, orientation, sizes) | Per player | No |
| Seeder Rake crop choice | Per player | No |
| Tiller layout and irrigation toggles | Per player | No |
All of these survive add-on updates. Tool items already in inventories and chests keep working across updates — the internal identifiers do not change.
- The break region is capped at 125 blocks (5 × 5 × 5). This is deliberate, to keep a single swing from stalling a server tick.
- Previews are capped at 128 outlines per refresh. In a very dense meadow the Scythe outline may show fewer blocks than the sweep will actually clear.
- The Tiller works on a single horizontal layer. It does not terrace a slope.
- Sugar cane channels are dug, not flooded. The tool never creates water.
- Third-party blocks are recognised by their block tags. A modded block with no standard vanilla tag will not be picked up by area mining, which is the safe failure.
The Behavior Pack is not active, or that family has been turned off. Check that both packs are active on the world, then run scriptevent andys_excavators:list as an operator to confirm the family is enabled.
Outlines are hidden while you crouch, so a menu can open with a clear view. Otherwise the Resource Pack is not active or has not been accepted — on a server or Realm the outline needs the Resource Pack to have downloaded.
The Resource Pack is not active or was declined. Re-accept it, or activate it manually under Resource Packs.
Deliberate. Scythes are plant tools and are blocked from breaking farmland so a fast harvest swing cannot chew through the field. Use a Shovel or an Excavator if you actually want the farmland gone.
That is the irrigation location. Fill it with a water bucket to hydrate the whole 9×9, or turn on Auto water fill in the Tiller menu.
Both are paid for from your inventory. Crouch-use the Tiller and read the availability lines: the water fill needs mangrove roots or stairs and a filled water bucket; the lamppost needs a fence post and a torch or lantern, and needs the water fill to have placed first.
Check that the channels are actually flooded — the Tiller digs them but does not create water. Two buckets at opposite ends fill a nine-long channel. Sugar cane also cannot grow on farmland or a dirt path, so make sure the growing rows are dirt, grass, coarse dirt, or sand.
Stems grow their fruit onto a neighbouring block, so the open green rows must stay clear. If you planted stems in every row there is nowhere for fruit to land.
The Rake checks real vanilla placement rules per cell and skips anything invalid — wrong ground, an occupied block, no adjacent water for Sugar Cane, a blocked side for Cactus. It also stops when you run out of the selected item. The chat message reports how many were planted.
Drops use the standard five-minute vanilla despawn timer, the same as any other mining. A large area break produces a lot of items at once; collect as you go.
Vanilla farmland reverts to dirt when it is neither hydrated nor planted. Hydrate the field — one water source covers the whole 9×9 — or replant promptly. The Scythe itself preserves the farmland it harvests over.
Area tools take only blocks in the same family as the block you actually hit. Ore families include their Deepslate variants, copper families ignore waxing and oxidation, and dirt-like ground is one family. Aim at the specific material you want.
An operator or the world settings have turned that family off. An operator can re-enable it in the shape menu's override section, on the world settings screen, or with scriptevent andys_excavators:set <tool> on.
Only operators and the dedicated-server console may change the global tool settings. Ordinary players never need those commands.
Report issues on the official CurseForge project page, and include:
- your Minecraft Bedrock version and platform;
- the add-on version;
- which tool, tier, and menu settings were in use;
- whether it was single-player, a server, or a Realm;
- what you expected and what happened instead;
- a screenshot or clip for anything visual.
