FAQ

Is this an official Northstar Redux feature?

No — Orrery is a separate addon that builds on top of Create: Northstar Redux. It requires Northstar to be installed.

Do I need anything besides Create and Northstar Redux?

No additional dependencies beyond Create, Northstar Redux, and their own requirements (NeoForge, etc.).

Why is the sky on Eris completely black?

Eris has no atmosphere, so there's no scattering of sunlight to create a blue sky — same reason the Moon's sky is black during Apollo-era photos. Stars are visible at all times as a result.

Why is the Sun so small and dim on Eris?

Eris is roughly 96 times farther from the Sun than Earth at its most distant point. From that distance, the Sun looks more like a very bright star than the disc we're used to seeing from Earth.

Can I use the Atmospheric Concentrator on Eris?

No — it requires an existing atmosphere to function, and Eris doesn't have one. Use electrolysis-based oxygen production instead. See Survival Tips.

Does weather happen on Eris?

No — Eris has no weather (no rain, snow, or storms).

Will more planets be added?

Yes — Orrery's planet framework is designed to make adding new planets, moons, and dwarf planets straightforward. More content is planned.

I found a bug — where do I report it?

Open an issue on the project's GitHub repository with as much detail as possible (Minecraft/NeoForge/Create/Northstar versions, steps to reproduce, and a crash log if applicable).

Can I suggest a planet to add?

Suggestions are welcome via GitHub issues. Keep in mind the framework currently focuses on dwarf planets and outer solar system bodies, consistent with Eris.
