FAQ
New ports start in Insert mode (network → block). At least one port must be set to Extract or Both so resources can enter the network. Open the port with the Conduit Wrench; the status line tells you what is missing ("Source empty", "No targets", "Filter blocks", ...).
Fabric energy is pushed by the generator. Set the cable's port at the generator to Extract or Both, then the push is accepted.
Throughput is limited per pipe segment. One lower-tier segment somewhere in the path limits the whole path. Upgrade it with a bolt.
No. One block holds one pipe kind. Place pipes of different kinds next to each other; they do not connect to each other.
They are inside the dropped pipe item. The tooltip says "Contains buffered resources". Place the pipe again to release them. (Pipes only hold items when a machine pushed them in and the targets were full; normally nothing waits inside a pipe.)
Pipes that still hold buffered content are rejected by the upgrade recipes, so crafting never deletes resources. Place them to empty them first, or upgrade placed pipes with a bolt.
Either the chunk of another member is not loaded, you lost access to the channel (for example you left the team of its owner), or the channel was deleted. Tesseracts never load chunks on their own.
Yes, with Quantum Tesseracts on both ends. Resonant Tesseracts only work within one dimension.
A cauldron only gives out whole levels. Copper and Reinforced fluid pipes move less than that per tick, so nothing moves and the port says "Source only gives larger portions". Use Precision fluid pipes or better. Tanks of other mods work with every tier.
The block next to the pipe is in a claim (Open Parties and Claims or FTB Chunks) that protects it against you. Ask the owner to add you to their party or team, or place the pipe inside their claim with their permission.
Join the same FTB Teams team or Open Parties and Claims party. Teammates share channels, tesseracts and pipes, also the ones placed earlier. Without a team mod, invite each other on the channel ("Invited players").
With CC: Tweaked, yes. Computers can always read a pipe; to let them switch a port, set its redstone button to "Comp.". See Resources and Compatibility.
Not yet. See Resources and Compatibility.
If mod X offers the standard item, fluid or energy interfaces of your loader, very likely yes. Jade, CC: Tweaked, Open Parties and Claims, FTB Chunks, FTB Teams and permission mods have extra support built in. Please report problems with other mods.
No, on purpose. Some files cover a few neighbouring versions, but only where the very same file was tested on each of them. See Supported Versions.
Yes. Anyone may use Pipster in a modpack, public or private, free or paid, and ship the Pipster jar with it, as long as the jar files stay exactly as published. Pipster is not open source: modifying, decompiling or re-uploading it outside a modpack is not allowed. See License and Permissions.
Yes, no need to ask.
Translations and changed textures need permission. Please open a permission request.
Yes, if your mod uses the API and does not contain Pipster files. Players install Pipster separately. For anything beyond that, open a permission request.
Only on Modrinth and CurseForge. Files from other sources are not official.
