The debug menu base was created by TheXaman. I used it personally to aid in developing the hack. Use its functionality at your own risk! And especially don't abuse it to cheat in an IronMON run!
- Save in-game, then reset.
- On the Continue/New Game screen, press and hold R while pressing A to continue.
- A different sound effect will play to confirm that debug mode was activated.
- Debug mode must be activated
- In the overworld, hold R and press START to open the debug menu
After what you've done in debug mode is completed, it is highly recommended that you save and reset your game to exit debug mode.
If you're doing a more casual randomizer run, or Nuzlocke/Soul Link, it can be beneficial for your mental health to minimize grinding.
- Select "Give X…", then "Give item XYZ…".
- Choose any item using the D-pad, then press A to confirm
- RIGHT/LEFT changes the increment of which UP/DOWN increases/decreases the value.
- The list of item IDs can be found here. For example, Rare Candy is item 68.
- Select the quantity, then press A to confirm
- Select "Pokémon Creator…", then "Party edit"
- Use L and R to cycle between party slots
- Use LEFT/RIGHT to scroll to page 4
- Select a stat using UP/DOWN, then press A
- The first column has IVs and second has EVs. Use LEFT/RIGHT to navigate the columns and UP/DOWN to change their values.
- It is possible to max out every EV by doing this. If you want to abide by the limits of what the game allows, ensure the sum of the EVs does not exceed 510.
- Press START to save. You cannot edit more than one Pokémon per debug session.
A Pokémon's PID is responsible for its nature, gender, Ability, Spinda spot pattern, Unown letter, and whether or not it is Shiny. These are the easiest steps to finding a Shiny PID while preserving its nature, gender and Ability, but not Spinda's spot pattern or Unown's letter.
- Select "Pokémon Creator…", then "Party edit"
- Use L and R to cycle between party slots
- Take a note of the Pokémon's species ID, nature and Ability, as shown on pages 1 and 3.
- Press B to exit the debug menu, then open it again with R + START
- Select "Give X…", then "Pkm (l,s,n,a,IV,mov)…".
- Using your notes from before, choose the species ID using the D-pad, then press A. For example, Rotom-Wash has ID 1174.
- RIGHT/LEFT changes the increment of which UP/DOWN increases/decreases the value.
- Press A to skip the level
- Press UP to set Shiny to TRUE, then press A
- Choose the nature, again using your notes from before.
- Choose its Ability, then press A
- Create a save state so that in case the generated Pokémon's gender doesn't match, you don't have to start over.
- If the Pokémon species is genderless, 100% male or 100% female, you may skip this step
- Mash A to skip IVs and moves until there are no more prompts
- If the Pokémon you generated has a gender that doesn't match, load the save state and repeat until you get a matching gender
- Go back to the Pokémon Creator ("Pokémon Creator…" > "Party edit")
- Use L and R to cycle to the Pokémon you just generated, and take note of its PID.
- Finally, go to your main Pokémon and change its PID to the one you just noted, then press START to save the Pokémon. Your Pokémon should now be Shiny!

hacked shinies are not allowed in hof lol. come back when you win with a full odds shiny
