Known Issues

This is a list of known issues/bugs in the current version of VTube Studio

Unsupported Device: Samsung S22 (any type)

Due to an incompatibility with the used tracking library, face tracking will not work on Samsung S22 devices. The library has since been discontinued, so there is nothing that can be done about this. If/Once VTube Studio switches to a better tracking library, compatibility may be restored.

MacOS crash issues

Starting with macOS 14 Sonoma, some users have reported intermittent crashes on macOS. So far, no root cause for these crashes could be determined and there is no ETA for a fix. The crashes appear to happen more frequently on M2 macs.

For some users, removing the Config folder next to the Live2DModels folder has helped. Also, starting VTube Studio without Steam has fixed this in some cases.

MacOS missing features

• Background hotkeys are not working VTube Studio on macOS now supports hotkeys even when the app is not in focus.
• Webcam tracking support is limited and experimental. It is not recommended to use webcam tracking on macOS. Please use iPhone tracking instead.
• NVIDIA webcam tracking is not supported.
• Video output to other apps using the "Virtual Webcam" is not supported.
• Video output to OBS using Spout2 is not supported. For proper transparent capture, only NDI can be used.
• For transparent capture, NDI should be used, but it may cause high CPU usage.
