UI testing Guide (Draft)

General

We are using a framework called Playwright, which owned and maintain by microsoft, for perform UI and API testing.

The nugetPack need is the following: https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.Playwright

Example code, of how to use it, can be find in this repo: https://github.com/executeautomation/Playwrightdotnet

Install

If needed, create a new test project, by run following commands:

1. dotnet new nunit.
2. dotnet add package Microsoft.Playwright

Run (Not on docker)

Run the following commands:

1. dotnet build; to build your project
2. playwright install; This install the needed browsers, to perform our UI testing.

Run In docker / test for pipeline

Run the following commands:

1. docker-compose -f compose-test.yml up --force-recreate --abort-on-container-exit --exit-code-from minitwit-uitests
