Clair 0.9.0
Added
- Claude Code can connect to Clair as its IDE: it opens files, reads your selection, open editors and diagnostics, and shows proposed edits as a diff you accept or reject.
- Settings can install Clair as Claude Code's Ctrl+G editor, and
clair open --waitblocks until the file's tab closes. - Hand work to the agent: "Fix with Agent" in quick fixes, send the selection or a file reference to the running agent, and paste a terminal selection into it.
- Agents can read diagnostics and post review comments and multi-line suggestions on your files.
- Language-server hover, parameter hints, rename (F2), quick fixes (⌘.), formatting (including format on save), Go to Symbol in File (⌘⇧O) and Show Problems (⌘⇧M), with servers for many more languages.
- Syntax highlighting for HTML, YAML, CSS, TOML and C.
- A conflict bar for conflicted files: take ours, theirs or both per block, step between blocks, and mark resolved.
- Stage or unstage a single change block from the diff.
- Merge the base branch into a worktree to resolve conflicts there.
- Open or create AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md instruction files from commands.
- Tab cycling moves across project groups and switches project.
Fixed
- Conflicts in files with CRLF line endings are now detected.
- Tab cycling and open tabs survive switching between projects that were not yet scanned.
- A single pane no longer sends duplicate agent notifications.
Added
- Agents can read the editor's diagnostics (
editor.diagnostics) and review comments (review.threads) through MCP or theclaircommand. - Agents can post review comments (
review.comment) and change suggestions (review.suggest) that show on the diff; suggestions can span several lines and carry a reason. - "Review this file / Project" asks the agent to post its findings as review comments; Claude Code runs it with only those Clair commands allowed.
- Hover information: rest the pointer on a word (or run Show Hover) to see the language server's description.
- Parameter hints while typing a call.
- Rename Symbol (F2) across the workspace, and Quick Fix (⌘.) for the language server's code actions.
- Format Document uses the language server, and format on save works for every language whose server formats.
- Go to Symbol in File (⌘⇧O) and Show Problems (⌘⇧M).
- Completions expand snippets and apply auto-imports in the same undo step.
- Language servers for C, Ruby, Java, PHP, Terraform, shell, JSON, HTML, CSS, YAML, TOML and Markdown, used when installed.
- Merge conflicts: a conflicted file's editor shows a conflict bar to take the current, incoming or both sides block by block, step between conflicts, ask the agent to resolve them, and mark the file resolved.
- Stage or unstage a single change block from the diff.
- Merge Base Branch brings the base into a managed worktree whose adoption conflicted.
- "Fix with Agent" in the quick-fix list, Send Selection to Agent, and Ask Agent About Terminal Selection.
- Edit AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md (Project or user) from the command palette; missing files start from a template.
- Claude Code started in a Clair terminal connects to Clair as its IDE: it sees your selection, open files and diagnostics, and its proposed edits open as a diff tab you accept or reject. ⌥⌘K sends the selection to Claude Code.
Fixed
- Cycling tabs works before any Project is registered, and switching away from a Project before its file tree loaded no longer closes its tabs on return.
Clair 0.8.2
Added
- The editor breadcrumb menu can copy a file's full or relative path.
Clair 0.8.1
Added
- The status bar shows the app version at its right end.
- Help > Changelog opens the changelog on GitHub.
Fixed
- Updates no longer fail with "Bad file descriptor" after Clair has been running for a while; background git calls leaked a file handle each.
- Source Control shows a loading or could-not-load message instead of "No changes" while git status is pending or has failed.
- Source Control no longer claims the working tree is clean when it has not checked.
- A changed submodule shows its file diffs instead of its commit pointer.
Clair 0.8.0
Added
- Reorder Projects by dragging their chip in the titlebar.
- Image files open read-only in an editor tab instead of showing an encoding error.
- The empty editor's home-screen shortcuts run their command on click and highlight on hover; a command that opens a new pane replaces the empty editor.
- ⌘W closes the empty editor when other panes sit beside it, or quits Clair (with the usual confirmation) when it is the only pane.
- History chats fold an agent's progress narration and thinking into collapsed rows, showing only the final reply.
- Clair can report crashes, terminal disconnects and failed updates as GitHub issues through your
ghlogin (Stable builds only, at most once a day).
Fixed
- Switching projects no longer shows the previous project's shell in a terminal pane.
- Dragging a titlebar tab or Project chip no longer moves the window.
- The CPU meter shows Clair's share of all cores (0–100%) instead of summed per-core percentages.
clair attachsurvives a slow daemon response instead of disconnecting.- Update downloads are retried and failures name the HTTP status.
Clair 0.7.2
Fixed
- The app icon no longer shows a stray vertical line beside the prompt chevron.
Clair 0.7.1
0.6.0 and 0.7.0 were tagged but never published, so this is the first release that ships their changes. The 0.6.0 changes are in the full changelog.
Added
- Concierge: each Project has a concierge agent in the activity bar. Chat with it in a GUI chat view; sending a message starts it, and agents it launches show as links to their own panes.
- Language: switch the app between English (default) and Japanese in Settings > General.
- Notification settings: choose whether bells and exits notify you, whether notifications show while Clair is in front and whether they play a sound, and send a test notification.
- Resource meter: hover the status bar to see Clair's CPU and memory with history sparklines and the top processes, labeled with their terminal, project and running command.
- Home screen: a Project opens on a single editor, and a home screen with shortcuts shows when no file or pane is open.
- Terminal links: Cmd-hover underlines links and Cmd-click opens http(s) links in the browser.
- Compare With… in the command palette compares the active file with a picked file, recent files first.
- Open Recent… in the command palette reopens recently opened files.
- Chat history: past chats are grouped by date and project and paged by ten; resume a chat from any registered Project, or copy its resume command.

- Menu bar titles are in English, and Clair's commands are spread across the File, Edit, View, Go and Pane menus.
- The agent sidebar shows the session title first with repo and branch below, provider avatars for live sessions, and a bell badge while an agent is waiting.
Fixed
- The Git view now updates the branch and ahead/behind after a branch switch or fetch.
- Closed panes no longer leave their shells running, which could make
clair attachfail with a timeout. - Chat history no longer drops rows for projects that appear on several days.
- Leaving the concierge returns the sidebar to the file tree.
Clair 0.5.0
Added
- HTML preview: open interactive HTML files beside the editor, including files generated by agents with

- Updates: an available update appears in a popup at the bottom right of the window.
- Crash reports: after a crash, Clair offers a prefilled GitHub issue on the next launch.
Fixed
- Settings: Esc closes the sheet, typing no longer reaches the covered editor, and the closing transition stays visible.
- Editor: JSON and Terraform highlighting now matches the intended Atom One Dark colours.
- Source Control: row buttons remain clickable when the row also opens a diff.
- Approvals: simultaneous
claircalls can each receive an approval card without timing out behind another request.
