FobosAPP 4.6.1
FobosAPP 4.6.1
FobosAPP 4.6.1 is a stability and usability patch over 4.6.0.
Highlights:
- Added spectrum-frame recording and replay tools for short-lived RF events.
- Improved replay audio/video synchronization and full-IQ replay demodulation.
- Added replay-side tuning controls and cleaned up duplicated replay paths.
- Continued HF interference lab work with baseline visual flattening, reset controls, and audio-side impulse blanking/cancel experiments.
- Improved spectrum/waterfall navigation: changing the listening marker no longer recenters the view, and the waterfall/spectrum view can be panned horizontally.
- Fixed live spectrum update logic that could pull the visible range back to the listening marker.
- Updated Raspberry source packaging without requiring a zip archive.
Privacy/package notes:
- Release packages exclude local
FobosAPP.ini, diagnostic logs, raw recordings, IQ captures, NMEA/UBX dumps, WAV files, CSV files, and local backup executables. - GNSS raw logs and QTH/map-provider keys remain local user data and should be backed up separately before replacing a runtime folder.
FobosAPP 4.6.0

Notes
Android is not rebuilt for this release. Local settings, diagnostic logs, SDR recordings, GNSS raw logs, map keys and user coordinates are intentionally excluded from release archives.
FobosAPP 4.5.2
FobosAPP 4.5.2
Network and Android maintenance release over 4.5.1.
Highlights
- Network clients now use the receiver list reported by the server instead of sending a local receiver index to the server.
- Server state and remote refresh avoid extra USB device probing during network handshakes.
- Network audio playback, relay and HTTP output now work when a client attaches to an already-running server.
- Fixed a network-client close hang caused by waiting for a local SDR reader in client-only mode.
- Updated the Android USB/network client with Fobos/RTL target auto-sync, corrected sample-rate option switching, and spectrum half-swap handling.

FobosAPP 4.5.1
FobosAPP 4.5.1
FobosAPP 4.5.1 is a privacy, stability, packaging, and waterfall-visual patch
over 4.5.0.
Highlights
- Restores the useful legacy waterfall contrast/palette behavior while keeping
the optimized low-copy waterfall row path. - Removes exact latitude/longitude from automatic GNSS IQ sidecar metadata,
acquisition reports, and UBX verbose diagnostics. GNSS reports keep QTH
locator context and an explicit privacy note instead. - Tightens release packaging so nested
recordingsfolders, local logs, raw
captures, GNSS reports, local settings, tokens, API keys, and scratch files do
not enter release archives. - Cleans the roadmap into a current live plan instead of a historical task log.
- Keeps the large source split/refactor work current for desktop and Raspberry
source builds.
Known Status
- Fobos Standard and Fobos Agile remain the primary supported paths.
- RTL-SDR remains a secondary/test backend.
- Serial GNSS modules through NMEA/UBX are the practical GNSS path.
- SDR-only GNSS acquisition remains experimental.
- DMR voice and external DMR decoder bridges remain lab features.
- Android was not rebuilt for this patch.
Privacy Note
FobosAPP.ini is local user data. It may contain QTH coordinates, map API keys,
DMR privacy keys, serial ports, presets, and UI settings. Keep or export it
before replacing a runtime folder, but do not publish it with release packages.
FobosAPP 4.5.0
FobosAPP 4.5.0
This release focuses on GNSS/QTH work and keeps the current DMR lab backends
available for testing.
Highlights
- Practical external serial GNSS support: NMEA live position, time, satellite
table, sky view, QTH map overlay and per-satellite/system filters. - u-blox/NEO-M8N-tested UBX workflow: enable NAV messages, poll/apply
CFG-GNSS, save configuration withCFG-CFG, and capture raw UBX/NMEA
binary logs. - SDR GPS L1 C/A diagnostics improvements: IQ monitor, acquisition reports,
weak/no-lock summaries, DC cleanup and tone-notch diagnostics. - Reduced normal diagnostic-log noise; frequent GNSS telemetry is now reserved
for verbose logging. - Native RTL-SDR defaults to auto gain/AGC.
Runtime Package Notes
The Windows x64 zip is intended to run from its unpacked folder. It includes
runtime DLLs that can be redistributed with the app, including Qt, FFTW, Fobos,
RTL-SDR, bladeRF beta runtime files, and optional DMR bridge tools where their
licenses allow redistribution.
Optional AMBE/DMR voice functionality remains experimental. See
README.md, THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.txt, licenses/dmr_voice_backend/, and
config/dmr_backends.example.json in the package for the backend contract and
for instructions on fetching/building optional dependencies such as
mbelib-neo or OpenDMR/softdmr when they are not bundled in a specific build.
The package intentionally excludes local settings, diagnostic logs, raw GNSS
serial captures, SDR IQ recordings, screenshots and user test data.
Known Issues
- SDR-only GPS position lock is not yet proven with the tested antenna setup.
Use an external serial GNSS module for practical positioning. - DMR voice is still lab quality. mbelib/OpenDMR, DSD-neo and GopherTrunk paths
are comparison and debugging routes. - Some Fobos Agile hardware/firmware/host combinations may show center-
frequency placement or I/Q mirror issues during tuning. This remains under
hardware/vendor investigation.
FobosAPP 4.4.0
FobosAPP 4.4.0 publishes the current DMR and GNSS work as a practical test release.
Highlights:
- DMR backend selector for FobosAPP+mbelib, FobosAPP+OpenDMR/OP25-compatible path, DSD-neo, and the experimental GopherTrunk bridge.
- DMR channel-rate controls and metadata stability improvements.
- Live USB/serial NMEA GNSS support via Qt SerialPort, tested with a u-blox/NEO-M8N-style receiver on COM4.
- GPS/QTH map updates from valid NMEA GGA/RMC fixes.
- QTH privacy controls: clear current real location, stop NMEA reception on request, hide the green current-location marker, and remove test/search markers with right-click.
- Windows runtime now includes Qt5SerialPort.dll.
Known issue:
- Some Fobos/Agile receivers or host/firmware combinations may still show intermittent center-frequency placement, shifted spectrum, or I/Q mirroring after tuning. The attempted startup frequency jog was removed because it could make the shifted state persistent. This remains under investigation and is not marked as fully fixed in 4.4.0.
Package notes:
- The Windows x64 zip is the main ready-to-run package.
- The Raspberry/source zip is included for Linux/Raspberry builds.
- Android was not rebuilt for this release because these changes are desktop/runtime focused.

FobosAPP 4.3.1
FobosAPP 4.3.1
This is a focused Agile scan visualization hotfix release.
Changed
- Agile scan IQ blocks now carry scan-point metadata from the receiver callback through
IqBufferand FFT processing. - Scan visual modes now use the scan center that produced the IQ block instead of querying the receiver later from the UI/spectrum update path.
- The scan visual mode selector now sits above the scan controls because it applies to the whole scan visualization, not only Agile scan.
Fixed
- Fixed irregular Agile scan waterfall sector placement caused by stale or unrelated scan indices.
- Skipped Agile tuning-period buffers (
scan_index == -1) so transitional IQ is not drawn as a valid scan row. - Improved
Floating/True axisandPass compositescan visual stability.
Notes
- Android APK is unchanged from 4.3.0 and is not re-uploaded for this desktop/source hotfix.
- DMR and GNSS remain experimental laboratory features.
Validation
- Built Windows Release with MSVC/CMake.
- Deployed to
release/bin. - Packaged Windows x64 and Raspberry/Linux source archives.
- Local Agile scan test at 60-120 MHz, 20 MHz step showed
ScanVisualDebugmetadata alignment withbadRows=0across 240 diagnostic rows.
