FIXED, AND THE REASON TO UPDATE (discussion #158, thanks twidget76) - EQBUDDY 1.84.0 WOULD NOT START if you had the Epic card's "classic-doable only" filter ticked. It appeared in Task Manager using no CPU, never reached the taskbar, and never opened a window - and because the failed launch left a process behind, a second double-click did nothing either. Restoring that checkbox at startup called into a part of the app that had not been built yet, which was a mistake introduced by 1.84.0's internal reorganisation of the quest checklists. If this hit you, nothing was damaged: your settings, history and logs were untouched the whole time. An automated launch test now runs with that filter ON, because the reason this reached anyone is that the old test only covered it OFF.
FIXED (discussion #135, thanks bjstrange, whose log finally cracked it) - CHARM SOMETIMES DIDN'T REPORT HOW LONG IT HELD. If the creature was mid-swing at the instant your charm landed, the game resolved that attack round anyway - and EQBuddy read your brand-new pet hitting you as the charm breaking, throwing away the clock one second after starting it. Minutes later the real fade had nothing left to measure, so the "held M:SS" went missing while the fade message itself printed as normal. That is why it looked random and moved between mobs: it depended entirely on the creature's swing timer. A hit within 3 seconds of the landing is now the tail of that round rather than a break.
FIXED (discussion #156, thanks bjstrange) - UPGRADED DROPS NOW TICK SKY ROWS. "Azure Ring +1" is an Azure Ring, but the Sky checklist compared the name exactly while the Epic and Gear checkers both folded the "+N" away - so one loot line ticked a gear wish and an epic step and silently skipped the Sky row that wanted the same item. Note this only applies to loot as it arrives; tick anything you already have by hand once.
FIXED (discussion #120, thanks Frankthetankk) - A BUFF ADDED UNDER A CLASS YOU AREN'T PLAYING VANISHED. Picking, say, Paladin in the buff-set class picker and clicking a searched buff appeared to do nothing - and then the buff disappeared from later searches, so you couldn't even retry. It was being added correctly every time; the breakout just never showed buckets outside your active classes, so the pick was stored, hidden and unremovable. Those picks were never lost and now appear as a parked section. Options and the breakout share one answer about this now.
YOUR LOGS SAY WHEN THEY'RE ARCHIVED (discussion #159, thanks Frankthetankk, who lost a session to the old cleanup and had no way to check archiving was working). Every archive now announces itself with a banner naming the file, and writes a line to error.log so you can answer "did it archive that session last Tuesday" later. The ↻ Reset button also stops underselling itself: its tooltip now says that it MOVES your log to Logs\archive and starts a fresh one, and it asks before doing it. Nothing is deleted, and with archiving switched off ↻ leaves your log completely alone and skips the dialog.
MACOS SHIPS AS A REAL APP (discussion #157, thanks pmcginn, who hit this as a new Mac user and worked out the fix himself). Releases now attach EQBuddy-osx-arm64.zip and EQBuddy-osx-x64.zip, each unzipping to EQBuddy.app - drag it to Applications and open it like anything else, instead of hunting through loose files for something openable. Still unsigned, so the first launch needs right-click → Open.
EQBUDDY MOBILE KEEPS UP NOW. Your phone was waiting for the desktop's once-a-second redraw before it heard about anything, even though EQBuddy reads the log every 150ms. Mobile has its own cadence from this release, so a mez breaking or a spawn coming up reaches the second screen as soon as it's known rather than up to a second later. It costs nothing when nothing is happening, or when no device is paired.
The Sky quest tabs now show what their D/R/P counters are out of (discussion #136, bjstrange) - they never summed to the total because an untouched quest sits in no bucket, which read as a bug rather than a design.
