- As a letterpress compositor, Alice wants to determine which typeface(s) are on the matrix so that she can set letterpress type with the proper matrices.
- Alice does not need to be a registered user to research a matrix code.
- This search returns a single answer.
- As a matrix owner, Bob wishes to register/change his ownership of matrix codes so that other compositors can purchase or borrow his matrices. Notes:
- Bob must be an authenticated user to register/change ownership of a matrix.
- Ownership of a matrix code implies ownership of all the glyphs carrying that matrix code.
- Many people can own copies of the same matrix code.
- Not every matrix code that was manufactured may have an owner registered in this application.
Note: This version handles only Linotype-manufactured matrices, which are identified by the Δ in the matrix code.

- As a letterpress compositor, Alice wants to determine which Linotype matrix sets contain the typeface(s) she wishes to use.
