OpenShift 0.5.0

@FilipNone FilipNone released this 20 Oct 17:24

Install: open the web tool in Chrome, Edge or Opera and use the Firmware tab. Installing erases your calibration, so calibrate again afterwards. Step by step

What's new

  • Faster shifts. A gear change now reaches the game in about 10 ms, down from 40 to 84 ms. The sensor gives a fresh position every 2 ms (stock: every 42 ms) and gears are confirmed after 10 ms (stock: 40 ms).
  • An optional neutral button. With the switch in H, button 1 is held while the lever is out of gear, for games that need a key bound to Neutral. Turn it on in the web tool's Settings tab or with openshift_ctl.py neutral on.
  • Quick downshifts no longer end in neutral. When the lever crossed neutral very fast, some games saw the new gear before the old one was released. Stock has the same bug.
  • A Firefox guide for using the web tool there.

Updating from 0.4.0: every button number is one higher (gear 1 is button 1 on Linux and Button 2 on Windows), so redo your game's mappings.

Not tested on a real shifter yet: the 10 ms gear confirmation. The faster sensor rate was checked on a unit.

Files: openshift-0.5.0.bin is the firmware, for installing from the command line. SHA256SUMS holds its checksum.
