Release list
Kotor1-v0.2.0
Game Apworld and Client:
[TEMPORARILY REMOVED]
Refer to the README to guide installation.
Patch Notes:
Quality of Life:
- The installing is more streamlined. The PlayerBundle zip is now self-contained: you no longer download Archipelago's source code. Refer to readme on installation
Note: when installing a new patch, first revert game files to base (the/ap_restore_alladmin command, or Steam's "Verify integrity of game files"), then runUninstall.batfor the previous version and follow the README. - Items now arrive when the game is calm. Everything the client delivers (items, credits, XP, skills, classes, traps, messages, DeathLinks) goes through one numbered queue, one job at a time, and is applied as soon as you are not in a conversation, a cutscene or a fight, usually within seconds. A message box lists what you received. Each job is numbered, so a repeat is dropped, and when you load an older save the client sends again what that save is missing, once. The Status tab and
/ap_statusshow what is waiting, what is in flight and what failed with the reason. The old wait for the next loading zone is gone.
New Features:
- Archipelago Bazaar (
bazaar). A Jawa trader on the Ebon Hawk next to the Archipelago Vendor: 5 checks available for purchases with credits and 20 checks that are available by finding the 100 random placed bazaar tokens in the game world (5 tokens needed for each check). These are never progression items. - Quest item checks (
quest_item_checks, on by default): 13 new checks that fire when you pick up one of the game's quest items from any source (Sith Armor, Sith Papers, Taris Shield Codes, Rakghoul Serum, Sand People Clothing, the Dune Sea map, Bantha Fodder, the Sith Medallion, Ajunta Pall's Blade, the Sith Tablet, Bacca's Sword Blade, the Environment Suit and the Manaan Data Module). - Party Console. One "Party Console" item is placed in every seed with companions: use it to open the party selection screen away from the Ebon Hawk. It refuses on the Hawk, in the Taris upper city cantina and arena, in the Korriban star map tomb and in the Malak fight.
Existing Feature changes:
- New Companion is now a console on the Ebon Hawk (
new_companion:off,onorrandom_class). Receive "Ebon Hawk: New Companion Selection" and a terminal appears beside HK-47's spot. It swaps HK-47's place or T3-M4's place for Meetra Surik, Darth Malak, Calo Nord, Yuthura Ban, Darth Bandon or Trask Ulgo, and back. A character can stand in only one place. Withrandom_classeach of the six is dealt a random class for the seed; withonthey keep their own. HK-47's and T3-M4's items and checks are unchanged. A swap does not car- New Companion is now a console on the Ebon Hawk (new_companion:off,onorrandom_class). A swap does not carry over gear or levels, so take the gear off first. Darth Bandon cannot wear body armor or robes (he crashed the game), so he has end-game armor built in (+8 AC, +1 to each save). Malak now has blaster, rifle and double-blade animations. - Additional Feats is a training option in the companion's own conversation. The item "Additional Feats Character: " unlocks "train in a new feat" for that companion: pick any feat they do not know and pay credits (1,000 for the first, 2,000 more for each one after). Active feats such as Power Attack, Flurry, Rapid Shot, Critical Strike and Force Jump work. It does not show on the Ebon Hawk.
companion_mode: noneandap_limitednow remove the six Sunry chain checks on Manaan too (they only start with Jolee present), in addition to the ten Ebon Hawk quest checks.- Traps with
item_fillerare capped at 36 per seed (fixed_amountis still exactly 12). - Progression System gates: the Manaan submarine, the Kashyyyk force field and Kashyyyk's third gate, and the Hrakert Rift exit now hold until you own the matching Progression items, with the game saying why. Taris and the Endar Spire take any token. Placement rules were tightened so no progression item of any game lands on checks you cannot reliably reach (the late game, the Ebon Hawk quests, the Sunry chain, the Bazaar). I believe this should fix generating in unreachable locations, but ping me if you still find issues.
- Area randomizer door fixes: the Manaan and Korriban port gates, the Manaan Sith embassy door and both Hidden Bek doors now open without keys or missions, the Sand People enclave no longer kills the party or leaves turrets outside, The Hidden Bek doors are confirmed in the game; the others were built and checked in the game files but not all played through.
- DeathLink is applied once, at a calm moment, never again when you load an older save, and a death caused by an incoming DeathLink is no longer sent on as a new one (two linked players would have killed each other for ever). A player flagged as plot-protected is now killed too.
- Skills, abilities, XP and credits: XP is no longer clamped in the first two Endar Spire areas, so you can reach level 2 and leave. The Cut Max HP trap is no longer undone by the reconciler. An item still waiting to be delivered is no longer given a second time by the self-heal.
- Korriban: taking the ceremonial saber before the star map no longer locks you out of the tomb.
- Droid seeds get droid gear in the shops. Every shop in a seed with a droid option now stocks a share of droid parts (plating, shields, sensors, spike mounts and utility devices), all three repair kit tiers, and weapons and grenades a droid can use. When droid mode is active for either PC or Companion the gear has been improved with extra stats to make the gear more comparable to non-droid gear.
- Unreached checks on Taris are released when the Ebon Hawk takes off from Taris. Skipping a side quest there no longer costs you the check. This only applies to Taris and Endar Spire.
Notes:
- The old random "Additional Feats" grant, the PC's own Additional Feats item, "Companion: New Companion" and its checks, and the staged-arm delivery they used have been removed from item/check tables. HK-47's two checks are never removed any more.
- Seeds generated with 0.1.9 or earlier do not work with 0.2.0 (the item and location tables changed). Generate a new seed. When switching to a new seed on the same install, quit and restart the client first, then run
/ap_restore_alland reconnect.
Known issues:
- On Kashyyyk the landing scenes treat whoever stands in HK-47's slot as HK-47 and play his lines.
- Swapping a companion through the console does not carry over gear or levels.
- DeathLink while you are in a fight waits until the fight is over.
- The T3-M4 slot's Hawk and Leviathan scenes and a few gate refusal lines were not played through before release; please report anything odd with the files listed in
TESTING.md.
Kotor-v0.1.9
Statement: No Meatbags Present
Game Apworld and Client:
[REMOVED]
Refer to README to guide installation
Note: When installing a new patch you should first revert game files to base using admin command or use Steam Verify game files. Then properly uninstall previous patch and go through steps in readme to do fresh install using above zip files.
Seeds generated with 0.1.8 or earlier do not work with 0.1.9 (the item and location tables changed). Generate a new seed. When switching to a new seed on the same install, quit and restart the client first, run /ap_restore_all, then reconnect.
Patch Notes:
New Features:
- Droid options. Two independent options:
- starting_class: droid makes your character a Battle Droid, a new class built for this option (hit die 10, full attack bonus like a Soldier, 3 skill points per level, class skills Awareness, Security, Demolitions and Repair). It is the only droid class that can use melee weapons and lightsabers. Your character uses a custom HK-47 variant model with human animations. Droid players cannot use armor, robes, masks, gloves, belts, implants or forearm bands, so the item pool leaves out gear a droid cannot use, plus the Stealth, Persuade and Treat Injury skill items and the Force power the AP vendor will not provide or display these as options. Persuade is rolled on your Charisma modifier instead of failing outright, and the Taris elevator guard lets a droid through when it carries the Sith armor it cannot wear.
companion_class: droidturns the seven non-droid companions (Bastila, Canderous, Carth, Jolee, Juhani, Mission, Zaalbar) into droids. Each one gets a random droid model (no more than two companions share a model,
and then with different paint jobs) and one of three droid classes: Combat Droid, Expert Droid or Battle Droid, dealt 3 / 2 / 2 across the seven. HK-47 and T3-M4 are already droids and stay as they are; the New Companion option is ignored when this selected. Only two of the models can have animations with actual melee weapons. The war droid and the assassin droid models were rebuilt with a human frame but droid appearance, so they can hold and swing melee weapons and lightsabers.
- New companion mode
ap_limited. No companion items exist in this mode. Every 25 of your own checks the next companion on a seeded random order joins you (the ninth after 225). Recruit moments still count as checks; the ten companion-specific Ebon Hawk quest checks are removed.
Existing Feature changes:
- Progression System rebuilt around story beats. The old option (eight real quest items, a locked galaxy map, no area randomizer) is gone. Eight groups of three plot items now sit in the pool:
Taris, Dantooine, Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, Korriban, Unknown World and Star Forge Progression 1 to 3 (Totaling 24 progression items). A story event waits until you hold enough items of its family (for example the Vulkar engine rooms
need one Taris item, Canderous's first meeting two, and recruiting him and leaving Taris three). Only story events wait: you can still travel anywhere, enter every area and do side quests, and no door is locked
by this option. It now works with every goal and with both area randomizer modes.- Taris: engine-room doors, Canderous's first meeting, his recruitment and the Davik transfer.
- Dantooine: the Jedi class conversation, the Juhani confrontation (the Padawan scene with Zhar is the gate; the fight itself can start early and waits for the items to finish), the council after the ruins.
- Tatooine: the bantha lure, the dragon fight, the star map.
- Kashyyyk: Jolee's join dialogue, the star-map terminal (it says it no longer responds until the second item arrives), the Chuundar confrontation.
- Manaan: Roland's briefing (his whole first conversation waits for the item), the debrief and key, the star map. The Rift key door now opens regardless of Roland.
- Korriban: Yuthura's acceptance (she says so on first contact when the item is missing), Uthar's tomb offer, the star map.
- Unknown World: the temple guide, the Bastila summit scene, the computer. Star Forge: the fight with Malak.
- The story chain is checked too. Dantooine's gates also need all three Taris items; each open-world planet's gates need Taris and Dantooine; the Unknown World needs all four open-world families and the Star Forge needs
the Unknown World. Shuffled doors therefore cannot open a later phase early. A gate that holds because of an earlier family names that family. - A closed gate tells you why. With a message ex - ("I need 3 Taris Progression items before I can go on.").
Gates on triggers, doors and scripted event start it themselves. Gates that are dialog starters say it once any ordinary greeting
has finished. Gates that are decided in the middle of a conversation say it once the conversation has ended. - Progression Items cannot be sold or dropped, and a lost one is re-granted. The real Sith armor, papers, shield codes and enviro suit are ordinary pickups again and function same as base game and are no longer suppressed.
- Four new alignment checks at Dark Side 35 and 45 and Light Side 55 and 65, for players who mix both sides.
"Alignment: True Neutral" is removed together with the crossing counter the client kept for it. - Unknown World: Bastila's final choice now moves you all the way to full light or full dark, instead of a band-dependent shift, which makes the true balance goal reachable in one playthrough.
- EXP defaults raised. EXP Item 5500 to 8000, EXP Limiter 905 to 1000, and both now have a minimum of 500. The 24 new progression items take slots from the item draw, so a seed holds about 3 to 4 fewer Experience Points items than before.
- Vendor Alignment Change has no use limit. The menu no longer says "up to 5 total". Stealing (dark side, +1,000 credits) is refused at an alignment of 10 or below and donating (light side, 5,000 credits) at 90 or above;
the vendor says so, and no credits change hands. - XP grants and corrections now reach the companions in your party. Whenever the mod grants XP or sets XP as a correction, every companion currently in your active party is raised to at least your XP, so they no longer lag behind. No downward correction is applied to companions.
- Location table: 267 entries (264 plus 4 alignment checks, minus True Neutral). The item table gains the 24 progression items. The old Progression System items stay reserved.
Quality of Life:
- The client now says when patching starts and finishes. The main tab prints
[patching] ...when the game files are being prepared and aFinishedmessage when you can start the game (or a warning if a patch failed).
Start the game after it, or fully relaunch it if it was already running: the game reads its tables once at startup. The per-patch results still go to the Heartbeat tab. - The "KOTOR Client" button in the Archipelago Launcher now starts the client. From the compiled Launcher the button ran the Launcher's own program instead of Python, so nothing opened. It now uses the Python the installer
recorded, opens a real console window, falls back to the console client if the GUI libraries cannot load, and writes each step to%LOCALAPPDATA%\KotorAP\launcher.logso a failure leaves a trace. - The client reminds you when the install was last patched for a different seed. Run
/ap_restore_alland reconnect before playing the new seed. - Companions you should not have are tracked by a marker in your save. Each companion now has a journal entry written at the moment the game grants them (and another when the Remove a Companion trap removes them for good).
A companion on your roster without that entry is removed after two area changes, never during a scripted scene, the Leviathan, or from the Unknown World trip onwards (the Star Forge clean-up handles those).
The old clean-up that only ran after the Leviathan has been changed. Until the Leviathan has completed the clean-up only reports in the log who would be removed; after leviathan it will then removes them.
Bug Fixes:
- Leviathan softlock in the hangar. The "Let fate decide who escapes" change replaced the Ebon Hawk's capture dialog with a file named
lev40_carth, and the Leviathan prison and hangar have their own dialogs of same name that got replaced this caused the Hawk's conversation played in front of Malak and the real one never did, leaving the player locked without a way to progress. The replacement is nowap_lev_carth, and the old file is removed on install and on connect. - "Endar Spire: Attack on the Endar Spire" can fire again. The replacement escape-pod script jumped straight to the Taris Hideout and skipped the conversation whose last reply writes that quest's final stage, so the check never completed.
- Companion corrections stopped working after Zaalbar's rescue. The roster report was marked "busy" for the rest of the game once Zaalbar's cell scene had played, which switched off the cleanup of companions you should not have,
the fix for greyed-out companions and the fix for companions that stop following. It is no longer marked busy by that scene. - Unknown World and Leviathan with the Dantooine star map done late. The Dantooine ruins map used to set the star-map counter to an absolute 10, which erased any planet maps already found (area randomizer), so the Leviathan or
the Unknown World never fired. It now adds 10 once, and the Hawk's galaxy map console offers the Unknown World whenever all five star maps are counted and the Leviathan is done. - Ebon Hawk with no exit. The Hawk's exit ramp did nothing while the game's "current planet" value was 0, so a player who reached the Hawk without i...

Game Apworld and Client:
[REMOVED]
Refer to README to guide installation
Note: When installing a new patch you should first revert game files to base using admin command or use Steam Verify game files. Then properly uninstall previous patch and go through steps in readme to do fresh install using above zip files.
Patch Notes:
Quality of Lfie:
- New characters get a Player ID item. A brand-new character starts with a small "Player ID" quest item recording
which seed and slot they were started for, and the client notes it next to each delivery in its log. It is
record-keeping only in this version: nothing is paused or blocked on it. - Visited areas are remembered in the save. Entering an area now gives you a small "Location: ..." quest item
(78 areas), and the client credits the matching "Visited:" - Companion recruit checks can no longer be lost. Recruiting a companion (all nine, including the New
Companion) now also writes a persistent journal marker ( a one-stage quest shown completed),
and the poll re-sends the recruit check every cycle for each marker in the save. Before, the check fired once
at the moment of recruitment, so a client that was disconnected lost it.
Existing Feature changes:
- Archipelago Vendor is now its own option . With the option on, a vendor stands on the ship
and each of his menus needs a Vendor Pass item found in the multiworld: Skills, Abilities,
Feats, Powers and Alignment. Respec is never gated. - Additional game checks - Boss datapad checks: Calo Nord, Darth Bandon and Saul Karath each carry a datapad that is now a location check (263 checks now with Additional Enemies on)
Bug Fixes:
- Star Forge ending cutscene now plays. The scene after Malak's death did not start because its speakers
(Carth, and Bastila when she is meant to be there) were missing; they are now placed first - DeathLink no longer piles up while you are offline. Queued DeathLinks are cleared when the client connects,
so when loading a save the game won't crash due to queued deathlinks - Goal and completion reporting. Issue resolved where The goal was not reported to server when completed.
- Star Forge companion roster at end game the reconciler will remove party members you shouldn't have access to. This and immediately post leviathan are only times a whole pass is performed to remove any excess companions not entitled.
- Companions that were stuck unselectable selectable again, and the reconciler checks selectability each cycle.
- Remove a Companion trap is now permanent. A trapped-off companion stays gone: the reconciler no longer
brings them back, and the trap removes them completely instead of only taking them out of the party. The
late-game scripted scenes that stage companions still work. - The Remove a Companion trap now removes exactly one companion. It sent the removal, then waited for the game's acknowledgement
under the wrong name, treated the send as failed and retried, and each retry removed another companion until none were left. - A companion granted by an item is no longer re-sent over and over. The self-heal decided who was missing only from recruit
scenes and saved recruit markers, so a companion who arrived through an item (no recruit scene) always looked missing and was
staged again every cycle, which risks a duplicate recruit. It now also counts anyone the roster report shows as available. - Remove Half Inventory trap now works with large inventories. With several hundred items it ran past the
engine's script instruction limit and never landed (and stalled the other deliveries queued behind it). - Progression System can no longer strand a seed on a Star Map. A planet's Star Map item could be placed on that planet
own Star Map area (seen in 1 of 10 test seeds), which is unreachable. - Seeds without Progression System no longer contain the 8 Progression Items. The random gear draw could place them as
ordinary armor or consumables (a second or third copy on Progression System seeds). - Goal markers are locked only for the goal you picked (before, all four goals' markers were locked, wasting three
checks), andreach_leviathannow completes on entering the first Leviathan area - Dantooine no longer hands you Carth and Bastila under
ap_gatedornone; the vanilla area scripts that added them
are guarded. - Recruiting Jolee and can progress story without him in the Kashyyyk hut (the original script's party-selection screen
collided with the mod's own removal), and the Kashyyyk repulsor field works withcompanion_mode: none(Jolee is staged
for it and removed afterwards). - Five areas that shared a script now run the right one and report their Visited checks: Shyrack Caves, the Tomb of
Naga Sadow and the Star Forge areas. The Marka Ragnos tomb gets its polling hook - Endar Spire safeguards: companion deliveries are held until you have left the Endar Spire, and loot patches never
strip the gear enemies carry. - The Leviathan capture works with
ap_gatedcompanions: a console on the ship stages the escape party, with a random
escapee. The Unknown World temple guide scene backfills Jolee and Juhani. - Heartbeat chains no longer multiply when the game clock jumps backwards on a module load, which could run every poll
action several times. Elapsed-time checks now count heartbeat ticks. - Stat doubling on a reconnect is fixed: the reconciler no longer resends a staged correction while the area script is
applying it. - Lightsaber crystal upgrade screen shows the right hilt icons for the six new colors.
- Polling no longer stays dead after an area change. The poll heartbeat was only restarted when the game clock stepped backward. Every area entry now restarts it.
- Fixed a crash after an XP correction. Mod tried to raise level now will never raise level so no issues.
- Leftover corrections no longer crash the game on load Old XP, credit, level and companion-class corrections are cleared each time the client connects and recalculated from your current game. Waiting item deliveries are unaffected.
- Much smaller logs. Noticable decline in extender and kse logs for excess noise. Unused information is only periodically reported about every minute instead of giving full details every 5 seconds. Most critical is information that has changed which is always reported. This should cut down logs by about large percentage.
Hot Fix - Issues on Leviathan:
For those finding issue of not being able to progress on Malak was due to a bug in game files that this emergency to fix here is steps to fix -
1 - Extract the 0.1.8.1 bundle and re-run Install.bat. It will print “Removed the retired lev40_carth.dlg.”
2 - Relaunch game and load a save prior to the fight with malak
Alternatively to fix the issue go into override folder and delete this file "lev40_carth.dlg".
kotor v0.1.7
Game Apworld and Client:
[REMOVED]
Refer to README to guide installation
Note: When installing a new patch you should first revert game files to base using admin command or use Steam Verify game files. Then properly uninstall previous patch and go through steps in readme to do fresh install using above zip files.
Patch Notes:
Quality of Lfie:
- Added a new "Archipelago Tracker" quest in your Journal — updates automatically at the start of your run and at each 20% milestone of checks found (20/40/60/80/100%).
Existing Feature Changes:
-
Archipelago Vendor: new "Alignment Change" option (5 uses total) — "Steal from the Republic" (gain credits, dark side shift) or "Donate to Taris Refugees" (spend credits, light side shift).
-
New Companion: now a 3-way choice — Off / Malak / Mystery. If Malak is selected he joins as a Level 1 Jedi Guardian once you either purchase Hk47 in game or by getting item (ap_gated).
-
Items : New lightsaber crystals added to AP Granted Items and possible shop randomization. Cyan, Purple, Silver, Black, and Bronze
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a rare issue where certain reward deliveries (companion recruitment, class changes) could be granted twice — in some cases this could cause a crash.
- Companions, feats, skills, and abilities are now all self-correcting — if a delivery didn't fully land (a missed area transition, a crash between sessions, or a save that's out of sync with your actual progress), the game will automatically catch it back up.
- Story-critical progression items (Sith Armor, Sith Papers, Shield Codes, Enviro Suit, and all 4 planet Star Maps) now self-heal the same way these are the items that could previously hard-block progress if lost.
- Character Reset (vendor respec) now actually resets your AP-earned feats, skills, and abilities instead of them silently reappearing shortly after.
- Traps that reduce a skill or ability score now actually stick, instead of potentially being undone automatically.
- Fixed Darth Malak's basic attack animation not playing when recruited as a companion.
- New Companion follow behavior fixed. Previously would not automatically follow you in game, now fixed.
- Removed the old "Connected to..." in-game notifications — purely cosmetic, replaced by the new Archipelago Tracker quest for actually useful status.
- Fixed reconciler using polling that was clearly faulty and resetting player credits
- Fixed reconciler resending items without an area transition to see if items were cleared for the deficit it noticed.
kotor v0.1.6
Game Apworld and Client:
[REMOVED]
Refer to README to guide installation
Note: When installing a new patch you should first revert game files to base using admin command or use Steam Verify game files. Then properly uninstall previous patch and go through steps in readme to do fresh install using above zip files.
Patch Notes:
New Features:
- Archipelago Vendor - Available on the Ebon-Hawk if Galactic Shop is enabled. Plan to put this under item restriction in a future patch, but currently can provide ability to Train Skills/Abilities/Feats/Force Powers and Character Reset (Respec) for your character for Credits. Only usable on the player character.
Existing Feature Changes:
- Random Areas - Now has two modes (Coupled - doors are A <> B ) or (Decoupled - Doors can be A > B < C )
- Items/Shop: Removed about 24 false gear (i.e bioware labelled as gear but on closer inspection isn't legitimate gear) from the pool of possible shop items
- Traps/Skills/Ability Grants - These now modify your base instead of the modifier on your character. This was changed due to a limitation in how many times a modifier can be added/subtracted to. This is mostly a visual change but is a design wise change that removes engine limitation. You will now only see your base values changing instead of the right value (modifier) when you get an item/trap/ability.
- Force Powers - Added a few force powers from TSL to the game, revitalize not included (thats a broken power)
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug involving random doors having locked doors not able to return. Gap still exists that some doors are decorative and need to walk out of area and return to go back through door.
- Fixed issue with delivery log not being created/stored in correct location causing a requeuing sending of all previously gained checks
- Fixed a bug where a companion could occasionally fail to actually join the party after being received as an item, most likely to occur right after launching the game.
- Expanded companion self-healing coverage to ensure if a companion isn't received properly will eventually be fixed on a future transition.
- Fixed patching of items in shop so all items now should show a cost.
- Confirmed coupled has been fixed with live confirmation that in one random generation all 8 doors tested were reciprocal
- Added checker to ensure all pending queue is cleared out on reconnecting to a new different slot/seed
kotor v0.1.5
Game Apworld and Client:
[REMOVED]
(Note if you have a previous patch on your game before running use Steam Verify to clean up old game files)
Refer to README to guide installation
Patch Notes:
Quality of Life:
- General improvements on KotorClient GUI including more clear messaging on status of items being sent to game. Queued (to be sent to extender), Staged (your setup to receive on an area transition), Settled (game confirmed receipt and recorded in delivery tracker)
- New admin commands making easier to patch/restore base game (allowing easier time to setup a new game/seed/slot)
New Features:
-
Galactic Shop - Players can now exchange items through the AP Server if both are running KotoR AP! A container on the ebon-hawk is labeled "Galactic Shop" you can drop an item in there and get a "galactic coin" back, then put that item in there and if the server has an item in the list of deposited items will retrieve it to you and grant you it on your next transition/reload. If no items are in the AP Server when depositing a coin you will get a standard medpac
-
Trap-Link - Option works same as any other trap link in other multiworld. If you find a trap location of yours it will send to server and generate traps for everyone else. If you get hit by the trap-link a random trap is generated for you.
-
New Companion - A new secret companion is available if you select this option as on. This companion replaces HK-47 slot in the game mode and related checks/locations. You will still see Hk-47 in Tatooine shop to recruit but once purchased and tell him to return to ship you will get the new companion (unless companion is gated in which case get the companion on getting the item). If you turn companion mode as off then don't get this companion regardless. This companion only has one dialogue and no voice currently. This companion is impacted by randomizing class and additional feats.
-
New Goal option: Reach Leviathan — a shorter alternative to Defeat Malak that still requires the same core story beats under Progression System, without the full Star Forge/Unknown World endgame after it.
Existing Feature Changes:
- Loot Mode - Huge design shift in how it works. Loot is now preloaded into game based on selection instead of trying to fix inventory real-time. This has few implication (1) game is patched for loot before you launch game. (2) this prevents issues with realtime reporting and adjustments - Inventory was only system in game where adjustments were being made as you actually get inventory. But due to this there was collisions with other calls to extender causing a silent failure. New system is improved in accuracy and lower risk. Your game is preloaded with the loot that is in the game, no live edits are happening to loot except a few narrow situations. One downside is that destroy/replace by game file edits cannot fully adjust the loot in game without major script editing - This means these modes only replace/destroy about 60-70% of game loot and remaining loot is generated via in-game scripts on events that is impractical for me to dig into each one. If there is a demand for it, I may introduce a stricter loot mode that will always delete all non whitelisted items from your inventory. Possibly call it "Obliterate"
- Traps -- New option to be either off/fixed-amount (standard 12) /or filler items. If used filler items will be part of the randomly generated pool of filler. Recommend using a low number esp if additional enemies on
- Additional Enemies -- This feature now generates "Bounty Datapads" on the additional enemy drops. These act as new locations for filler only items. Now enabling this mode will create 40 additional checks.
- Randomize Areas -- Updated methodology for randomization and removed 2-3 doors that are one way. This has minimal impact to randomization. Practically doors were "Pseudo coupled" now it is confirmed coupled.
- Locations/Checks -- Reclassified some locations as only providing filler to ensure progression system wouldn't softlock the players.
Bug Fixes:
- Resolved game crash issue regarding jedi granting to the player character (on jedi_start) and (jedi_grant) modes.
- Resolved Endar spire escapepod to taris transition bug that will lock player out from actually progressing and recruiting carth. Cutscenes on this part are now removed and you will immediately load into taris talking to carth
- Resolved seed generation for progression system putting items in unreachable locations. Confirmed working on 3 different multiworld generations
- Extender (heartbeat) silent failing or not responding fixed-any extender call that calls a subprocess has fallback that forces an end to prevent hanging. Will retry again as necessary.
- Resolved item grants were getting requeued over and over again on each transition/load.
- Fixed additional enemies sane giving higher level enemies in areas due to boss enemies inflating the rating system
- Resolved issue with quest branches making impossible to reach locations - now if a quest is completed all ending branches locations are unlocked
- Fixed taris areas requiring certain companions to be present for progression of story - Sith Base / Sewers / Hideout
- Remove turret rail gun sequences. Apparently its a known issue that the game would not register when this event was supposed to end, so now the sequences are skipped. I hated this turret sequence as a kid anyways.
- New diagnostics added to ensure silent failure not occurring on extender which will help with reporting and diagnosing issues faster.
- goal: True Balance could never complete if you reconnected or restarted between hitting each alignment extreme

Creates three spheres for game progression
