Roll Table Compendium

The Roll Table Compendium (registered as roll-table-compendium) holds Foundry roll tables covering combat, encounters, random dungeon generation, and treasure. Many tables link to sub-tables, mirroring the classic Dark Dungeons / Rules Cyclopedia random-generation flow.

Folder Structure

Folder What's inside
Combat Hit-location tables by body shape
Encounter Terrain and themed encounter tables
Random Dungeon Dungeon-room, door, and treasure generation
Treasure Treasure-type and magic-item tables

Combat

Hit-location tables — one per body shape — each a 1d20 roll:

  • Humanoid, Quadraped, Winged Biped, Serpentoid, Insectoid, Arachnid

Each table's results (e.g. Right Leg, Abdomen, Chest, Left/Right Arm, Head) are weighted ranges covering 1–20.

Encounter

Encounter tables by terrain and theme, with sub-folders:

  • Terrain — Woods, Clear/Grasslands, Desert, Swamp, River, Barren/Mountain/Hill, City, Settled, Special City (e.g. Woods_Encounter)
  • Monster Reaction Roll — the classic 2d6 reaction table (Hostile / Unfriendly / Neutral / Indifferent / Friendly)
  • Humanoid — per-race tables (Dwarf, Elf, Gnoll, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Hobgoblin, Kobold, Orc) plus per-terrain humanoid tables
  • Human, Animal, Castle, Dungeon Encounter (by dungeon level 1 → 8-10), Flyers, Swimmer, Insects, Undead, Dragons, Unusual

Random Dungeon

A set of generator tables for stocking dungeons:

  • Room Type (1d8) — with sub-tables for Empty Room, Room with Monster, Room with Trap, Room with Alarm, Special Room, Magic Pool, etc.
  • Door - Locked or Stuck (1d20) and Door - Trapped (1d10)
  • Trap Type sub-table
  • Level 1 / Level 2-3 / Level 4-5 Treasure (1d100) — each linking to Gem, Jewelry, and Magic Item sub-tables for that level range

Treasure

The classic treasure-type generation system:

  • Special Treasure Table and gem/jewelry value tables (Gem Value Table, Jewelry Value Table, Common/Uncommon/Rare Jewelry)
  • Magic-item roll tables — Magical Items (Basic), Magical Items (Adv.), Magical Items (No Weapons), Sword, Weapon or Armor (Basic), Magical Weapon (Basic) — plus detailed sub-tables:
    • Weapon Sub Tables — Swords Basic/Advanced, Missile Weapons, Misc. Weapons
    • Armor Sub Tables, Missile Weapon Sub Tables, Scroll Sub Tables, Potion Sub Tables, Ring Sub Tables, Wands, Staves, Rods Sub Tables, Misc Sub Tables, Sub Tables

Using the Tables

  • Roll from the sidebar — open a table in the Roll Table directory and click Roll.
  • Hotbar — drag a table to your hotbar to roll it with one click.
  • The Roll Table Helper macro — the Macro Compendium's Roll Table Helper opens FaDe's roll-table dialog so you can roll any table (including chained sub-tables) by name. It's the manual way to run the same tables the treasure-type macros use automatically.
  • Treasure Type macros — the GM_Only Treasure Type A–V macros chain these tables together (e.g. Special Treasure Table, Magical Items (Basic), Potions, Scrolls) to generate complete treasure hoards.
