Splasher Archipelago (v.0.0.7) -- Client Upgrade
This version requires to update the APWorld accordingly
Highlights
- Reworked essence items. Now, these are useful instead of filler, and lower permanently the essence goal to unlock the golden splasher. An option allows you to choose the balancing, and (optional) essence traps have been added to increase back the goal (up to 700). Those have a separate balancing option.
- Implemented back cutscene skip, now targeting specific cutscenes in the game instead of catching a global trigger which had side-effects. You can also speedup level unlocks with a separate speed rate.
- Many UI / sprites improvements. These are detailed in a section bellow.
- (Finally) allow the client to connect to servers protected by password.
Minor upgrades
- Fixed logic in Apocalink Now
- The configuration parser now allows some fields to be unspecified.
- Fixed improper interactions with Steam. Specifically, we prevent Archipelago to interact with Steam Cloud (for stability, this can be enabled back if absolutely needed) and to send achievements while enabled.
UI / sprites detailed
- The backpack now only shows powers you have actually unlocked, and updates in real time when a power is received (you'don't need to load a level or reload the Hub anymore).
- Doors now have their platinum sprite as soon as you visited every location required by your options. Additionally, the "new" text on unlocked levels shows correctly, and leds are fixed to light up if the corresponding splasher location is checked (by yourself or a finished game).
- Doors show a custom message when locked that indicates the name of the Archipelago item you're missing.
- The Secretaire has a new set of dialogues proper to Archipelago. Importantly, she will tell you hints you must collect for yourself or other people.
