Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ContextForge handles your information. It is written in plain language and reflects how the application actually works in version 1.0.0.

ContextForge is a local application

ContextForge runs entirely on your Mac. It does not use accounts, does not require you to sign in, and does not connect to any ContextForge servers.

What ContextForge does with your data

ContextForge works with YouTube videos you choose. When you paste a YouTube URL, ContextForge fetches public information about that video (such as its title, channel, and publication date) and its transcript, so it can build your output.

ContextForge does not send your prompts, transcripts, or generated output to any AI service. When you choose an AI destination, ContextForge only opens that website in your browser so you can paste the output yourself.

What ContextForge stores on your computer

ContextForge stores a small amount of data locally on your Mac so your preferences and history are preserved between sessions. This includes:

  • Your saved prompts.
  • A record of which videos you have processed.
  • Your favorite AI destinations.
  • Whether you have completed the first-launch introduction.

This data stays on your computer. It is not uploaded anywhere.

What ContextForge does not do

ContextForge does not:

  • Collect analytics or usage statistics.
  • Track your activity.
  • Sell or share your data.
  • Use third-party advertising.
  • Process your data on external servers.
