LevelUp v1.1.2 - Climb to the next Country

Choose a tag to compare

@GiZano GiZano released this 30 Sep 22:31

This patch release brings major internationalization updates, important bug fixes for calendar synchronization, and several UI/UX improvements to ensure a smoother experience.

🌍 What's New

  • More Languages: LevelUp is now fully translated into German 🇩🇪, French 🇫🇷, and Spanish 🇪🇸!
  • New Language Selector: Replaced the static buttons in the Settings screen with a sleek, native popup modal selector for easier language switching.
  • Peak History Polish: Improved navigation transitions when tapping past completed peaks in your history (no more dropped animations).

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Calendar Sync (#21): Fixed a critical race condition where copying a week's plan would drop events or miscalculate dates when syncing with the Native Device Calendar.
  • Category Renaming (#55): Fixed a bug where the default "Lettura" and "Progetto" categories could not be renamed because they were incorrectly initialized as "Altro". Existing affected categories will automatically be migrated upon launch.
  • UI Tweaks (#56, #57): The "Peak Conquered" text emoji has been replaced with a native vector icon, and the flag in the Mountain graphic is now perfectly aligned with the peak.

🧗‍♀️ LevelUp v1.1.0 - Ready to Climb

✨ New Features

• Interactive Onboarding Walkthrough: A brand new visual onboarding sequence with native UI layouts, dynamic images, and proper SafeArea insets. Complete with gamification lore bridging time
management with "mountain climbing altitude".
• Permanent Data Deletion (Hard Delete): It is now possible to permanently delete activity blocks and categories. Deleting a category safely cascades to all its templates and scheduled occurrences,
perfectly scrubbing historical data across all weeks without leaving orphans.

🐛 Bug Fixes

• Altitude Recalculation Accuracy: When historical blocks are hard-deleted, the accumulated "Completed Hours" and "Altitude Meters" are safely deducted in real-time, preventing inflated statistics.
• i18n Fallbacks on Default Categories: Fixed untranslated UI titles and default category labels not updating when changing the app language.
• Calendar Ghost Events: Permanently deleting a synchronized block will now trigger an automatic removal of the associated Google/Apple Calendar event to prevent orphaned "ghost" events on the
user's OS.
• React Strict-Mode Compliance: Eliminated several hook dependency violations and prevented React anti-patterns (such as calling state updates inside outer state setters).

🛠 Refactoring & Chores

• Improved strict linting across the codebase.
• Removed obsolete mockups and redundant deployment files.
• Restructured data flow for default category generation to persist deleted defaults across sessions.
• Contributors: Welcomed Gabriele Righi to AUTHORS.

What's Changed

  • docs: add Gabriele Righi to AUTHORS by @Gheb6 in #30
  • [FEAT] Hard delete for blocks and categories (Resolves #26) by @GiZano in #29
  • chore: bump version to 1.1.0 by @GiZano in #31

🏔️ LevelUp v1.0.0 - The Alpine Release

Choose a tag to compare

@GiZano GiZano released this 25 Sep 23:10
e7689cf

Welcome to the very first official release of LevelUp!
After a long journey of prototyping and refining, we are finally ready to drop v1.0.0. This app was born from a simple need: eliminating decision fatigue in our free time and building the scaffolding to actually achieve our long-term goals.

LevelUp turns your goals into mountains to climb, breaking them down into manageable camps and weekly blocks.

✨ What's included in v1.0.0

🎯 Core Gamification

  • Peaks & Camps: Define your long-term goals (Peaks) and break them into actionable sub-goals (Camps).
  • Visual Progress: Watch your SVG mountain fill up as you conquer your camps, with a satisfying visual celebration when you plant your flag at the summit.
  • Streaks: Keep the momentum alive with a daily streak counter. Don't break the chain!

📅 Weekly Time-Blocking Planner

  • Zero Decision Fatigue: A powerful but simple weekly grid (Morning, Afternoon, Evening) to drag and drop your tasks.
  • Activity Blocks: Create reusable templates for your activities with specific time durations (e.g., "Study React", "Gym", "Reading").
  • Smart Categories: Group blocks into categories, set weekly target hours, and track your progress in real-time.

🎨 The "Alpine" UI/UX Redesign

  • Beautiful & Calm: A completely custom "Alpine Dusk" theme featuring deep teals and warm sunset tones, designed to be easy on the eyes.
  • Native Polish: Smooth layout animations when toggling blocks and interacting with lists.
  • Vector Graphics: Say goodbye to OS-dependent emojis! We've integrated @expo/vector-icons and a sleek IconPicker for a professional, cohesive look across all devices.
  • Custom Typography: Powered by the modern Outfit Google Font.

💾 Safe & Local-First

  • 100% Privacy: All your data lives on your device. No sneaky analytics, no cloud lock-in.
  • Backup & Restore: Easily export all your Peaks, Categories, and Blocks to a JSON file to save on Google Drive, and import it back anytime.
  • Bilingual: Fully translated in both English and Italian.
