Applying tweaks

Applying tweaks

  1. Connect and unlock a supported device. Confirm that its iOS version and model appear on Home.
  2. Choose the tweak sections in the sidebar: SpringBoard, Internal, Status Bar, Liquid Glass, Daemons, or Templates. Some options depend on device and iOS version.
  3. Review the pre-apply summary. Resolve conflicts, compatibility warnings, and safety-rule blocks before continuing.
  4. Click Apply Tweaks and keep the device connected until the operation finishes. The app may make a protective backup, restore files, and reboot the device.

Backups and recovery

Make a separate device backup before the first apply. On iOS 27+, GoldenNugget creates a protective backup during apply unless data protection was explicitly skipped. The experimental fast cache can reuse a persistent master backup; the Update Cache action in the pre-apply summary refreshes it. You can choose another storage volume under Settings → Backup → Backup/Cache Location.

If an operation fails after a restore begins, keep the backup files and use Settings → Backup → Restore Data From Backup or the recovery commands only after reading their prompts. See Troubleshooting and bug reports.

Preview without changing a device

The CLI can make a static plan offline:

python nugget_cli.py apply --dry-run --ios-version 27.0 --model iPhone16,1 --preset none --enable SBBuildNumber --json

The dry run checks known compatibility and conflicts. It does not predict whether a real backup or restore will succeed.
