Installation and first launch

Compatibility

GoldenNugget supports iOS 26.2–27.x. On Windows, install Apple Devices or iTunes. On Linux, USB access needs usbmuxd and libimobiledevice.

Run from source

Use Python 3.10 or newer. From the repository directory:

python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt
python3 main_app.py

On Windows, activate with .venv\Scripts\activate.bat and use python if python3 is unavailable. Prebuilt packages are listed in Releases.

Connect a device

1. Connect your iPhone or iPad over USB and unlock it.
2. Accept the “Trust This Computer” prompt on the device if shown.
3. Confirm that it appears on GoldenNugget’s Home page.
4. Make a separate backup before applying changes.
